Vietnam to Build Four Tugs

A company of Vietnam's Defence Ministry and a Dutch industrial group on April 15 signed a 16 million-Eur contract to build four tug-ships, capacity of 5,000 HP each, for Europe. Under the contract, the Song Thu company will be responsible for the supply of materials and workforce while the Damen Group for designing, transfer of technology and the supply of main equipment. The deadline is fixed in August, 2006. At the signing ceremony, the two sides also discussed the possibility of buiding oil-spill responding ships and multi-functional ships for the oil and gas industry. (Source: www.vnagency.com.vn)
