SCHOTTEL Strengthens Presence in Nordic Region
As of November 2018, SCHOTTEL Norway AS and Frydenbø SCHOTTEL Nordic AS have been merged under SCHOTTEL Nordic AS. The German propulsion company is now able to provide both newbuilding advise and after sales services in the Nordic region. The company's headquarters for service products will continue to be located in Gardermoen, with workshop facilities for the overhaul of thrusters as well as warehousing.

First Steel Cut for Karish and Tanin FPSO
Energean Oil and Gas announced that first steel was cut on the Karish and Tanin floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel at the COSCO yard in Zhoushan, China, on Monday. The FPSO is scheduled to be delivered to the Karish field offshore Israel in late 2020, ahead of first production in the first quarter of 2021.The FPSO, which will be installed 90 kilometers offshore, will be the first FPSO to operate in the Eastern Mediterranean.

LNG Carrier Pskov Completes First Open Water STS Transfer
On 24 November 2018, the LNG carrier Pskov successfully completed the first LNG ship-to-ship transfer operation for the Yamal LNG Project. Pskov loaded some 170,000 cu. m. of liquefied gas, which was delivered from the Port of Sabetta (Yamal Peninsula) to the transshipment point by one of the Arctic LNG carriers chartered by Yamal LNG.The cargo transshipment was carried out at the safe anchorage off the port of Honningsvåg, Norway.
SCHOTTEL: Control Upgrade Extends Lifecycle on Harbor Tug
Schottel GmbH has carried out a control upgrade on a seagoing and harbor tug equipped with azimuth thrusters from another manufacturer. Instead of replacing the entire propulsion system (including mechanics and hydraulics), only the controls were swapped out. In order to comply with the latest class requirements, the German vessel owner was forced to modernize the “WULF 9”, a 30-year-old ASD tugboat.
