Chemical/Product Tanker Delivered to Concordia Maritime
A 50,000 dwt IMOIIMAX MR tanker, Stena Important, was delivered to Concordia Maritime October 15, from the Chinese shipyard Guangzhou Shipbuilding International (GSI) in Guangzhou. The vessel is part of a series of 10 vessels, two of which are owned by Concordia Maritime. The chemical and product tanker can transport both oil and petroleum products as well as vegetable oils and chemicals. Norsafe to Debut New Lifeboats at KORMARINE
Norsafe, a developer of marine lifesaving equipment, will bring crew safety into focus at KORMARINE in Busan, Korea, on October 20-23, launching two new lifeboats for the shipping and offshore markets. North Sea Trials for Inter-vessel Communications
The Norwegian Coastal Administration (NCA), Norwegian Coast Guard and the Norwegian Clean Seas Association for Operating Companies (NOFO) took part in a full-scale trial of Kongsberg Maritime’s Maritime Broadband Radio (MBR) inter-vessel communication system in the North Sea this June. During the North Sea exercise MBR was used as the communication platform for data exchange and coordination of simultaneous operations.
