Free Seminar During Ft. Lauderdale Boat Show

Maritime Activity Reports, Inc.

Marine Marketers of America (MMA) is presenting a free seminar for members of the boating industry attending the Ft. Lauderdale International Boat Show. Slated for Friday November 6 from 8:30 - 10 am at Bahia Mar's Grandview Room, the event includes a membership mixer, brief association meeting, and the seminar entitled, "Collaborative Consumption Strategies for Growing Boating: How Four Companies are Engaging Former Boaters and Attracting Newcomers to the Boating Lifestyle... and How You and Your Business Can Benefit from this New Dynamic."

The seminar will be facilitated by NMMA's Chief Marketing Officer Carl Blackwell who originally organized and moderated this panel event for IBEX. Based on the positive feedback to the IBEX event, coupled with the limited opportunity for general industry attendance, Marine Marketers of America extended the invitation to Blackwell and the expert panel for an encore performance. New content from the original presentation is planned, incorporating key points and participant questions generated from the IBEX experience.

Joining Blackwell are four industry leaders in the fast-growing boating and sailing club sector, along with peer-to-peer niche. Panelists include John Giglio of Freedom Boat Club; Andy Sturner of Boat Bound; Chris Oetting of BoatSetter; and of the SailTime Group. Each will share a brief overview regarding their respective business model and then elaborate how they are helping to bring newcomers into boating and/or retaining boating enthusiasts. Of special significance, the panel will also share specific ideas for how industry businesses can partner with them for mutual success.

"A major focus of Marine Marketers of America is providing ongoing professional marketing development for our members and the boating industry at large," said MMA President Wanda Kenton Smith. "The emergence of collaborative consumption in today's society, coupled with the notable growth in these newer marine business segments, should be of interest to our industry. We invite members of the boating industry to join us for this dynamic program and to learn about new opportunities for growth and partnership."
