Delta Wave’s High Tech Hat Trick
In October, Morgan City-based and ABS certified mobile satellite service provider and marine electronics service company Delta Wave Communications added three new offerings to its already wide menu of products. Delta Wave has been named an MDL distribution partner for the Fanbeam Laser DP reference system and MDL’s Dynascan 3D mobile mapping system. Separately, a new agreement with KVH Industries introduces new, cutting edge VSAT and Broadband solutions to the Delta Wave stable.

More Abu Dhabi Orders for Konecranes
Konecranes contracted to deliver 12 new cranes to the commercial Khalifa Port container terminal in Abu Dhabi. The company has received an order for twelve cranes for the new Khalifa Port where it has already delivered 30 automated stacking cranes. The port started its commercial operations in September this year. Khalifa Port is owned by the Abu Dhabi Ports Company (ADPC) and operated by Abu Dhabi Terminals (ADT).

Neptun Werft Wins Viking River Cruises Order
Viking River Cruises orders 10 new river cruise vessels of the 'Viking Longship' class from the Rostock-Warnemunde yard. Two of the ships will be delivered in August and September 2013, and the others by April 2014. This order brings the total number of new vessels to be delivered to Viking to 10 in 2013 and 8 in 2014. Luxury Cruise Ship Launch by Fincantieri
Fincantieri launch 'Le Soleil', a super luxury cruise ship for French shipping line Compagnie du Ponent (Bridgepoint Group). The ship will be delivered in June 2013 and will be essentially more like a mega yacht in size and fitting out with a paramount attention to interior detail. Le Soleil, which will fly the French flag, is the third twin following "L'Austral" and "Le Boreal", the two mini cruise ships delivered in May 2010 and April 2011 respectively.
BAE Gains UK Submarine Command System Contract
A £46m contract to support and maintain a new combat system across the Royal Navy's submarine fleet awarded to BAE Systems. The Design Services Arrangement contract will ensure that the system, which is used to navigate vessels as well as gather intelligence and defend against attacks, is maintained and developed over the next decade. The Royal Navy operates three classes of submarine, totalling 10 vessels, which are used to safeguard the UK's interests around the world.
