WSF Soon Back to Normal Service
Washington State Ferry (WSF) service disruptions should diminish soon, as three ferries return to service from shipyard. The expected return to service of three ferry vessels over the next two weeks will help alleviate temporary service disruptions occurring now on two major ferry routes. The 202-car Tacoma, in for routine maintenance, is expected to return to service Friday evening, Dec. 14. That will be followed Monday, Dec.
CEACT River Navigation Software Updated
SevenCs and CEACT Information Systems Inc. have announced the latest development of their inland navigation system CEACTTM. The new version includes two new major functionalities. The new version will be available in November 2012. Multiple CPA enables the user to track several AIS targets simultaneously. The operator can toggle between the most relevant targets without re-acquiring. Dangerous targets don’t get lost and the situational awareness is significantly improved.

Lakes November Limestone Down 11.4 PCT
Shipments of limestone on the Great Lakes totaled 2.9 million tons in November, a decrease of 1.7 percent compared to October, and 11.4 percent below the level of a year ago. The November stone float was also 12 percent off the month’s 5-year average. Shipments from U.S. ports fell 12.3 percent in November. Loadings at Canadian quarries slipped by 7 percent. Shipments were impacted in the first days of the month by some delays related to Hurricane Sandy.
