Aqua-Chem Awarded Contract

Aqua-Chem Inc., Knoxville, Tenn., is being awarded an $8,012,723 firm-fixed-price requirements contract for FFG 7 class ship Reverse Osmosis Unit Sets, High Purity Reverse Osmosis Units, technical manual and related provisioning and technical data. The Reverse Osmosis Desalination Systems will replace existing waste heat recovery distilling plants on FFG 7 class ships and will provide increased performance over existing distilling plants. Work will be performed in Knoxville, Tenn., and is expected to be completed by May 2007. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was competitively procured and posted on the Federal BusinessOpportunity website, with six offers received. The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Division, Philadelphia, Pa., is the contracting activity.
