Zim Improves Asia-Mediterranean Loops

 The Israeli ocean carrier Zim Integrated Shipping Services is upgrading its Asia-Mediterranean service network, comprising the East Med-Black Sea Express, or EMX, and the Asia-India Subcontinent East Med, or AME, by adding new port calls and upsizing tonnage deployment.

 
The upgraded its Asia-Med Services  due to commence in mid-October 2015. The improved rotation will include extended port coverage, two weekly calls in Haifa and Ashdod and other improvements suited to the needs of the Asia-Med market. 
 
Rafael Ben-Ari, ZIM’s VP of Shipping, commented, “We are pleased to upgrade our Asia-Med Services with faster transit times and greater port coverage. The improved services provide an immediate response to the needs of the market, consistent with ZIM’s strategy and commitment to our customers."
 
"As we have done for many decades, we will continue to provide reliable service to our customers on this strategic and important route between Asia and the Mediterranean,” Rafael  added.
 
The first vessel from the new EMX rotation calling Ashdod on the Westbound leg will be KHE,36/W ETA Pusan OCT 16th. 
 
The new EMX rotation will be: Pusan - Shanghai - Ningbo - Da Chan Bay - Ashdod - Haifa - Istanbul - Novorossiysk - Odessa - Istanbul - Haifa - Nhava Sheva - Port Kelang - Da Chan Bay - Pusan
 
The new AME rotation adds direct calls to the Xingang and Qingdao ports. This service, which previously operated eight vessels, will now operate nine vessels. The first North China vessel will be YYW,5/W ETA Xingang OCT 13th. 
 
The new AME rotation will be:  Xiamen - Xingang - Qingdao - Ningbo - Shanghai - Da Chan Bay - Port Kelang - Cochin - Nhava Sheva - Mundra - Haifa - Ashdod - Alexandria - Mersin - Xiamen
