Atlantic Offshore Safety Vessel Launched in Spain

Zamakona Yards Group launch the 'Ocean Ospry' from it Pasajes shipyard in northern Spain; the first of three such Field Support Vessels (FSV) ordered by Norway's Atlantic Offshore AS.

The ship’s main mission will be to provide immediate aid to emergency situations on oil rigs, being specially adapted to the harsh conditions of the North Sea. There, the vessel will start operations for oil company Shell in the beginning of 2014.

The Ocean Osprey is a Field Support Vessel (FSV) of HY820 Havyard design. With an estimated price of 25 million Euros, the vessel incorporates the latest technologies including deck systems for towing operations with a pulling capacity of 65 tons. With a length of 66.80 meters and a beam of 16 meters it is designed to be capable of the rescue of 300 people. Propulsion is from two MAN main engines with a power of 1930 kW each
