$5.3M Navy Deal Awarded

Concurrent Technologies Corp., Johnstown, Pa., is being awarded a $5,310,332 cost-plus-fixed-fee contract for continuing research and development under the Dominant Battlespace Command (DBC) Program. The contractor will perform specific tasks including user-centered design activities, continuing evaluation of prototypes in Navy/Marine Corps joint and coalition environments, developing four additional prototypes based on feedback and operational requirements, evaluating the four prototypes in an operational environment and evolving the concepts of operations, requirements and design specifications for the end objective of the DBC system. The DBC Program's ultimate objective is to extend visualization and display technologies and integrate them with emerging command, control, communication, computers, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance concepts to evolve a system that provides dominant battlespace awareness. Work will be performed in Johnstown, Pa., and is expected to be completed by January 2003. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. This contract was competitively procured under a Naval Research Laboratory broad agency announcement. The Office of Naval Research, Arlington, Va., is the contracting activity (N00014-02-C-0039).
