Gaztransport & Technigaz (GTT) announced the notification of two Liquefied Natural Gas Carriers (LNGC) to be built by Japanese shipbuilder Imabari. These large vessels will be equipped with Mark III Flex containment system pioneered by GTT and also includes a new MEGI propulsion system.

GTT, a designer of membrane containment systems for the maritime transportation and storage of LNG, and Imabari, a shipbuilder based in Japan, announce the signing of an agreement for the design and construction of two LNG carriers using GTT’s containment system for delivery in 2017.

The vessels will be operated by Elcano, a Spanish shipowner with a long history of operating GTT-designed LNG carriers.
