Alion Awarded $23.1m Contract to Support COMOPTEVFOR

Alion Science and Technology has won a $23.1momnibus contract award to support the Commander Naval Operational Test and Evaluation Force (COMOPTEVFOR). Under the COMOPTEVFOR contract vehicle, Alion will conduct independent research and provide technical and analytical support for acquisition and fleet introduction decisions of naval aviation, surface, subsurface, and space systems relied on by the fleet. The contract includes a base year and four, one-year option periods, which, if exercised, would bring the total contract award to $115.5 million; the annual contract ceiling is $23.1 million. Initial work is expected to be completed by July 2008, but the contract could run until July 2012 if all options are exercised. Under the contract, work will be performed in a variety of locations in the United States with provisions for afloat and outside-of-the-continental United States locations as needed. A total of four contractors, including Alion, were awarded this omnibus contract.
