Holland America Books Largest Number Of Customers For World Cruise

Approximately 925 passengers paying as much as $250,000 per cabin made the round-the-world cruise that departed on Jan. 6 on Holland America Line's flagship the Rotterdam, the cruise line's highest booked such trip in its 127-year history. Officials said that this year's number of around-the-world cruisers is half again as many as there were last year. The rest of the berths aboard the 1,316-passenger luxury ship were booked by people traveling segments of the itinerary, which begins in Fort Lauderdale and has calls at 40 ports in Antarctica and other continents, according to a Holland America spokesman.
