Offshore and marine consulting firm Noble Denton Group has expanded its UK presence with the opening of a new office in Newcastle-upon-Tyne. The move is part of an on-going period of global expansion for the company. Noble Denton Consultants Ltd., one of the UK operating companies of the Noble Denton Group, will operate from the Newcastle office in Seaton Burn where the new team has brought specialist skills in design and consultancy for ports, ships and marine operations, using state of the art structural and hydrodynamic tools to underpin their technical work. The office will also provide a base for the existing broad range of Noble Denton Consultants’ technical consultancy services. The new operation will be headed by David Byrne, general manager of Noble Denton Consultants Ltd. in Newcastle. Prior to joining Noble Denton, Byrne was director of Burness Corlett - Three Quays (Newcastle) Ltd. Eight specialists from his former company have also joined the new team at Noble Denton. It is anticipated that the expansion will create more than 20 job opportunities and an active recruitment campaign to attract highly skilled workers is planned. The launch of Noble Denton’s Newcastle office is one of a number of initiatives currently underway as part of a strategic expansion of the Group’s activities. In recent months, it has made a number of acquisitions including: InDec AS in Oslo, Poseidon Maritime (UK), an Aberdeen based consultancy firm and Lowe Offshore International Ltd, a Houston based project and engineering firm. It has also consolidated its Offshore Dynamics Inc arm as a separate division by setting up new associated companies in Houston and Sharjah to complement existing entities in London and Singapore.
