TALMUQ – Texas A&M University at Qatar –  is actively involved in helping the Middle East state solve engineering problems says Dean

Texas A&M University at Qatar is actively engaged in solving engineering problems for major industries and companies in the country through path-breaking research, development, and technical services, according to a news report in 'Gulf Times'.

In the relatively short period since the university arrived in Qatar, excellent collaboration and partnership have been established with many companies and government organisations, including British Petroleum, Chevron Qatar, ConocoPhillips Qatar, GDF Suez Qatar, Maersk Oil, National Instruments, Qatar Fertiliser Company, Qatar National Research Fund, Qatar Petrochemical Company, Qatar Petroleum, Qatar Shell, Qatar Science & Technology Park, Qatar Telecom, RasGas and Schlumberger.

RasGas, Qatar Petroleum, Qafco, and Qtel are among those which have approached TAMUQ to solve engineering problems through research and development.
“Solutions have been developed and delivered to companies, while other projects are still going on and progressing. The overall results have been very satisfactory and companies keep approaching TAMUQ based on the good experience they had with other projects.”

TAMUQ is hosting its first Research-Industry Partnership Showcase, ‘Research and Industry: Fostering Synergy,’ on May 21 at the Qatar National Convention Centre. The event will promote dialogue between university researchers and industry representatives on collaboration potentials, mutual interests and shared opportunities for advancing Qatar’s national vision and strategic development goals through research.
