ExxonMobil Launches Bunker Quality Guarantee

ExxonMobil Marine Fuels (EMMF) has introduced a product quality guarantee covering all bunkers supplied direct to clients. It will be marked by a new product quality guarantee logo on EMMF delivery documentation. Peter Healey, director of EMMF, says, "We observe rigorous product quality standards in all our refineries and terminals throughout the world. We also set extremely high standards in the industry for both our own and all contracted barge operations. This combination ensures that those customers who receive deliveries direct from EMMF can be confident that the operation will be conducted properly, safely and efficiently. "We know that our key strengths are the quality of both our product and our delivery process. But in cases where our product is on-sold through an intermediary, this may not be enough. We cannot, for example, guarantee the quality of fuel originally sold by ExxonMobil in good faith to an intermediary and then delivered on board a vessel by that intermediary as bunker fuel. "What we can do, however, is guarantee that all fuel supplied by EMMF, either by barge or pipeline, direct to shipowners for use on board their vessels, meets the exacting standards with which EMMF is synonymous. As part of our ongoing commitment to quality, we have adopted a uniform standard design layout for all documentation relating to barge and pipe-delivered product worldwide. Our new standardised bunker delivery receipt will include the EMMF logo, together with a new product quality guarantee logo. This is effectively the EMMF seal of approval. It guarantees the very highest standards of bunker product and delivery. "Whenever customers see the EMMF quality approved stamp, they can be sure that they are receiving their marine fuels undiluted. And they can rely on EMMF to continue to provide products that are second-to-none."
