TWIC Applicants with Rejected Fingerprints

Maritime Activity Reports, Inc.

October 20, 2008

The US Coast Guard issued policy guidance relating to applicants for a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) whose fingerprints have been rejected by the FBI. Personnel who are on the TSA-provided list of individuals with fingerprint rejection issues may be allowed unescorted access to regulated facilities through use of the TWIC New Hire procedures. This is a temporary waiver effective through November 27, while the fingerprint issues are resolved.  (Source: Holland & Knight)
