Fishing Vessel Sinks Off Shetland Following Collision The Shetland Coastguard received a distress call from the fishing vessel Harvester, 73 miles South East of Sumburgh reporting that they were in need of urgent assistance following a collision with the supply vessel Strilmoey. Shetland Coastguard made radio contact with both vessels from the collision and the transfer of the crew was arranged by bringing alongside the sister vessel of Harvester called Ocean Harvest. The two fishing vessels had been pair trawling when the collision occurred. Shortly after the six crew from the 26 metre vessel Harvester were safely transferred to the Ocean Harvest, Harvester sank. The Ocean Harvest is underway to Peterhead. The 85 metre supply vessel, Strilmoey has continued on passage to the Beryl oil field and then onwards to Stavanger in Norway. The weather on scene during the incident was poor visibility with fog but calm seas and a slight sea swell.
