Nakilat Grows Fleet with Six New LNG and LPG Carriers
Qatar-based energy shipping company Nakilat has placed orders to with Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries (HSHI) of South Korea for the construction of six new LNG and LPG carriers.The order includes two LNG carriers with a cargo capacity of 174,000 cubic meters each and four very large LPG/ammonia gas carriers, with a substantial cargo capacity of 88,000 cubic meters.The vessels are set to be delivered between 2026 and 2027, Nakilat said.Upon delivery, Nakilat's LNG fleet will expand to 71 vesselsâŚ

DSME Delivers Newbuild LNG Carrier to Nakilat
Qatar-based shipping company Nakilat said Monday it has taken delivery of a newbuild liquefied natural gas (LNG) carrier Global Star built by South Korea's Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME).The 173,400 cubic meter capacity Global Star will be commercially and technically managed in-house by Nakilat. It is the second out of the four LNG carrier newbuilds to be delivered to Global Shipping Co. Ltd., a joint venture of Nakilat (60%) and Maran Ventures Inc. (Maran Ventures) (40%).The series' first newbuild, Global Energy, was delivered in May 2020.
Nakilat Takes Over Management of FSRU Exquisite
Qatar-based energy shipping company Nakilat said Monday it had assumed the technical ship management and operations of the Floating Storage and Regasification Unit (FSRU) Exquisite from Excelerate.The FSRU is jointly owned by Nakilat and Excelerate through a joint venture established in 2018. This is the first FSRU to be managed in-house by Nakilat, bringing the company's managed fleet to 27 vessels, comprising of 22 LNG, 4 LPG carriers, and 1 FSRU.The FSRU Exquisite has a cargo-carrying capacity of 150,900 cubic meters and a peak regasification rate of 690 million cubic feet per day.

Nakilat, Maran Ventures JV adds two vessels
Nakilat has expanded its joint venture partnership with Greek shipping company Maran Ventures Inc., to include two additional LNG vessels. Maran Nakilat Co. Ltd. was first established in 2005 with four jointly-owned LNG vessels, and was further expanded on several occasions. This new agreement increases the number of vessels jointly-owned by Nakilat and Maran Gas from 13 to 15 vessels. The two newly added vessels, Woodside Rogers and Woodside Goode, are equipped with modern technology and built by Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Co (DSME). Five Vessels Delivered for Qatarâs New Port Project
Nakilat Damen Shipyards Qatar (NDSQ) has delivered five vessels as part of an 11-vessel order for New Port Project (NPP). Built entirely at the Erhama Bin Jaber Al Jalahma Shipyard in Ras Laffan Industrial City, the vessels were launched and delivered to NPP after successful completion of their sea trials. Measuring 15.4 meters long with a beam of 5 meters and a speed of 25 knots, the two Damen Stan Pilot 1505 pilot boats Um Alhoul 1 and Um Alhoul 2 will be used to carry out pilot duties and the transportation of personnel.
N-KOM, Angelicoussis Extend Cooperation

Nakilat H1 Profit Up 10 pct
Qatar Gas Transport Co (Nakilat), one of the world's largest shippers of liquefied natural gas, has registered a half yearly net profit of $135 million (QR490.2mn), up 10% on the same period last year. The healthy financial results reflect âNakilatâs strategic development, the success of its joint ventures, and the companyâs resilience in the challenging economic climateâ, the company announced. Worldâs First MAN B&W ME-GI Enters Service
Nakilat, in association with Qatari LNG producers Qatargas and RasGas Company Limited and engine manufacturer MAN Diesel & Turbo, recently celebrated the success of the ME-GI project involving the retrofit of chartered Q-Max vessel, Rasheeda, with a gas-burning M-Type Electronically Controlled â Gas Injection (ME-GI) System, which has now been successfully commissioned. The Qatari-owned Q-Max vessel is the worldâs first low-speed marine diesel engine to be converted to use LNG as a fuel. The retrofit modification meets the current known and future stated global emissions regulations. Nakilatâs Rasheeda built in 2010 is a 266,000 m3 LNG carrier with two MAN B&W S70ME-C HFO-burning engines, which have been converted to the dual-fuel ME-GI concept.
