Solstad Scoops $7M for Two AHTS Vessels

Norwegian vessel owner Solstad Offshore has sold two anchor handling tug supply (AHTS) vessels, securing a profit of approximately $7.1 million for the transaction.The AHTS vessels, Far Sound and Far Scimitar, have been in layup in Asia since 2016 and 2018.Fars Sound is a 2007-built AHTS, with the length of 78.1 meters and of UT 712 L design.Far Scimitar is of the same design, with 78.3 length. It was built in 2008.The sale was made through Solstad Reder, a wholly owned subsidiary of Solstad Maritime Holding.Delivery of the vessels to the new owner took place on February 23, 2024.

As 2023 is drawing to a close we would once again invite the readers of Offshore Engineer Magazine to gaze into our crystal ball to see what 2024 might have in store for the offshore support vessel industry. Before diving straight into our forward-looking sentiments however, it is important to address some of the main trends in the year that past as these lay the foundation for the year to come.Continuing the market development from the year before, 2023 very much advanced the ongoing recovery for offshore support vessels further.

DOF to Manage AHTS Duo Previously Owned by Havila Shipping

Solstad Offshore Secures Contract Extensions for Three Vessels

The Norwegian offshore vessel owner Solstad Offshore has secured contract extensions for three of its offshore vessels.Equinor has declared the last contractual yearly option for the AHTS “Normand Ferking”. With the declaration of this option, “Normand Ferking” is now firm until November 2024. The vessel is currently in the port of Slovag, Norway.Subsea 7 has exercised the 2024 Optional Charter Period for the CSV â€śNormand Subsea”. The contract is now firm until December 31, 2024. Subsea 7 has the option to extend the contract for another year.

Maersk Supply Service Sells Two 2004-built AHTS Vessels

Danish offshore vessel operator Maersk Supply Service has sold two of its older Anchor Handler Tug Supply Vessels (AHTS), citing the global oversupply in the market and the current market situation.The vessels in question are the Maersk Advancer and Maersk Asserter. Petrobras Charters DOF Offshore Vessel Trio

Norwegian offshore vessel operator DOF has secured long-term charters for a trio of anchor handling units with Petrobras in Brazil.DOF said Tuesday Petrobras had awarded its Skandi Urca and Skandi Fluminense vessels 2+2 year contracts with the start in September 2020.Also, Petrobras has hired the Skandi Paraty vessel for a one-year contract that has already started this month,." All vessels are Brazilian built AHTS vessels and all equipped with Work Class ROV's for operations down to 3.000m water depth," DOF said.The vessels, to be used by Petrobras in support of exploration and production activities in Brazil, are owned and operated by DOF's Brazilian subsidiary Norskan and DOF Subsea Brasil will be responsible for the ROV operations on the vessels.Worth noting…

Long-term Charters for Solstad Offshore Anchor Handlers in Brazil

Norwegian offshore vessel owner Solstad Offshore has secured long-term charters for two of its anchor handling tug and supply vessels in Brazil.Solstad said Tuesday that Petrobras had chartered its AHTS vessels Far Sagaris and Far Statesman for a period of three years.Petrobras will use the anchor handlers to support its exploration and production activities on the Brazilian continental shelf. Siem Offshore Wins Work for AHTS Trio

Norwegean offshore and subsea shipping company Siem Offshore has won one-year contracts for three anchor handling tug supply (AHTS) vessels in Australia.The Cayman Islands-registered marine transportation and logistics services provider said the AHTS trio would support an upcoming drilling campaign of an oil and gas company in Australia.Siem Offshore did not reveal the name of the client. It did not say which vessels would be used for the operation.The contract  duration  for each vessel is 365 days + options  and with commencement in first quarter 2020.Siem Offshore  operates a large number of support vessels: 10 Anchor Handling Tug Supply Vessels, 5 Platform Supply Vessels and 6 OSCV & MRSV.

Boa Offshore Wins AHTS Contracts

Norwegian offshore supply vessel owner Boa Offshore is awarded contracts by The Norwegian Defense Logistic Organization (FLO) to charter two vessels for the state’s emergency response preparedness.The BOA Group offered prime assets, the BOA BISON and the BOA JARL, both excellent vessels with large capabilities, said a press release.The Norwegian Navy will assume responsibility oceangoing tug emergency response preparedness from the Ministry of Transport, with two hired and four own vessels from 1st. of January 2020.The two hired vessels will be included in the Armed Forces structure and the Coast Guard’s operation and maintenance routines.The contracts were signed on October 3rd. 2019.

Solstad Wins AHTS Charter Deals from Total

French oil giant Total has awarded contracts to Norwegian shipping company Solstad Farstad for two large anchor handling tug supply (AHTS) vessels.The offshore service and supply ship shipping company announced that the contracts were awarded by Total’s South African entity for the provision of the Normand Drott and Normand Prosper large AHTS vessels.The contracts are to support Total E&P South Africa's operations in Block 11B/12B and the drilling programme is expected to take up to 280 days, not including mobilization time and demobilization time, with expected commencement during the first half of 2020.Both vessels are currently trading the North Sea Spot Market…

Solstad Offshore Sells AHTS Vessel

Norwegian offshore vessel owner Solstad Offshore said that its wholly owned subsidiary Farstad Marine has sold one of its anchor handling tug supply (AHTS) vessels."Farstad Marine has sold the 16304-hp, 2002-built anchor handling tug supply vessel Far Saltire," said the services provider to petroleum related offshore activities.Delivery of the vessel to the new owner took place yesterday (September 18th, 2019).The sale of the vessels will have an immaterial accounting effect for 3Q 2019, the note added.According to company’s financial reports for 2018 and the two quarters of 2019, the anchor handler was in lay-up.The Far Saltire was built at the Ørskov yard. The vessel is 73.6 meters long, 16.8 meters wide, with 2,195 metric tonnes of deadweight.

DOF Wins AHTS Contracts in NZ

Norwegian offshore supply vessel (OSV) operator DOF has won work for two anchor-handling tug supply (AHTS) contracts to support OMV's drilling operations in New Zealand.Two  AHTS vessels, Skandi Emerald and Skandi Atlantic, have been contracted to support drilling rig COSL Prospector for two wells firm plus two options for additional wells.Both vessels are currently supporting the same rig with another Operator in New Zealand, and commencement with OMV will be on completion of this campaign during Q4 2019.Mons S.
