C&J Energy, Keane Merge in $1.8bln Deal

Oilfield services firms C&J Energy Services and Keane Group, said  that they will merge in an all-stock deal valued at about $1.8 billion.C&J Energy, which offers a suite of oil and gas production services, and Keane, which specializes in well completions would combine in what the companies described as a merger of equals. The deal would create a company with more than $4 billion in annual revenues.Under the terms of the merger agreement, which has been unanimously approved by the Boards of Directors of both companies and the Special Committee of the Keane Board, C&J shareholders will receive 1.6149 shares of Keane common stock for each share of C&J common stock owned. The merger agreement permits C&J to pay its shareholders a cash dividend of $1.00 per share prior to closing.

BHGE Launches Multimodal Facility in Angola

Baker Hughes, a GE company (BHGE) announced the inauguration of its multimodal facility (MMF) for oil and gas in Luanda, Angola.The facility, with its additional capabilities across multiple product lines, will deliver a suite of products and services across the oil and gas value chain. It will serve as a hub to support customers and projects in Angola and Southern Africa region, and will also serve customers on a global scale.The strategic location for this multipurpose facility puts BHGE in close proximity to serve important projects in the region. This will enable BHGE to provide faster response and mobilization to customer sites, and reduced product and service delivery costs based on economies of scale of a one-stop shop.

Halliburton Announces JV with SPT Energy

Halliburton has signed an agreement with the SPT Energy Group Inc. affiliate, Petrotech (Xinjiang) Engineering Co., Ltd., to establish a joint venture company focused on hydraulic fracturing and production enhancement services in Xinjiang, China. The new company, Xinjiang HDTD Oilfield Services Co. Ltd., will provide fracture stimulation services, including design and analysis, data acquisition, and pumping and chemical services in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. This is Halliburton’s first joint venture for hydraulic fracturing services in China. A ceremony was held on Wednesday at the China World Hotel in Beijing to celebrate the establishment of Xinjiang HDTD Oilfield Services Co., Ltd.

North Sea, UK Sector, Contracts for KCS Deutag

KCA Deutag has won significant subsea drilling operation & maintenance contracts from core clients Total E&P UK, EnQuest & CNR International (CNRI). The company was awarded a contract with Total E&P UK to provide drilling operations and maintenance services on the Alwyn North and Dunbar platforms. Both contracts have already commenced and have a firm two year commitment with options for an extension of up to two years. Secondly, EnQuest has also signed a significant contract with KCA Deutag for a four year extension of its drilling operations and maintenance contract for both the Heather and Thistle platforms. Lastly, a substantial contract extension was awarded by CNRI.

Topaz Signs Contract with Kuwait Oil Company

Renaissance subsidiary, Topaz Marine Engineering (“Topaz”), a UAE-based full service ship building, ship repair and engineering services company, confirms it has been commissioned by the Kuwait Oil Company (“KOC”) to design, build and deliver 10 Fast Steel Crew /Pilot Boats of 22m LOA (“Crew/Pilot Boats”), market estimates believe the contract value to be in the region of US$50 million. With a focus on high technology and latest design, the Crew/Pilot boat will be designed to accommodate 30 crew, with passengers all seated on the main deck and will be provided with first quality equipment.

Topaz Wins Sharjah Ferry Contract

The UAE-based full service ship building, ship repair and engineering services company, Topaz Marine Engineering confirms it has been commissioned by the Government of Sharjah – Al Diwan Al Amiri to build and deliver one Catamaran passenger ferry boa. With a focus on passenger luxury and efficiency, the catamaran will be designed to accommodate 40 people, with passengers all seated on the main deck. It will be used to transport people between mainland Sharjah and the Abu Musa Island, situated 70 kilometres offshore.

Topaz to complete structural work and outfitting of two crew/cargo vessels. UAE, Abu Dhabi, 6 February, 2012: Renaissance Services (Muscat Stock Exchange: RNSS) subsidiary Topaz Energy and Marine, a leading provider of offshore support vessels and engineering services, has been awarded a contract from GAC Group to provide completion services for two crew/cargo vessels. Topaz’s NicoCraft shipyard in Abu Dhabi has been awarded the contract based on the shipyard’s capabilities and established track record.
