Cadeler Boasts Record High Order Backlog

On release of its interim financial report 2024 Cadeler reports that it has delivered results in line with expectations and achieved a record high order backlog.The world’s largest operator in offshore wind installation, operation, and maintenance services also states that in addition to progress on the integration of the Eneti business has achieving synergies above expectations.Cadeler has also added projects in Asia and the US – as well as Europe – to its order book.The renewed O-class cranes were delivered on time and on budget.

Cadeler Secures Work of O-Class Offshore Wind Turbine Installation Vessels

Offshore wind turbine installation company Cadeler A/S said Thursday it had won an important contract with wind turbine maker Vestas, and entered a reservation agreement with an undisclosed client. Siemens Gamesa Picks Cadeler to Transport and Install Giant 14MW Offshore Wind Turbines

Offshore wind installation company Cadeler said Wednesday it had won the largest contract in its history.Cadeler, previously known as Swire Blue Ocean, said that offshore wind turbine maker Siemens Gamesa had awarded Cadeler a contract of valued at around $90 million, with an additional $30 million in options, to transport and install giant SG 14-222 DD offshore wind turbines.The turbines are expected to be the largest wind turbines in the world at the time of installation and have an individual capacity of 14 MW.

Kalmar Supplies 9 Straddle Carriers to Eurogate

The  manufacturer of terminal tractors Kalmar has concluded an agreement with long-term customer Eurogate to heighten nine Kalmar straddle carriers operating at the Eurogate Container Terminal Hamburg.The order was booked in Cargotec's 2019 Q4 order intake, with the work scheduled to commence in Q1 of 2020 and be completed by the beginning of Q3, the unit of Cargotec said.Eurogate Container Terminal Hamburg is one of Northern Europe’s main transport hubs, offering excellent road, rail and feeder connections to the economic centers of Scandinavia, Central and Eastern Europe, and Russia. The Eurogate Container Terminal Hamburg equipment fleet includes Kalmar straddle carriers and ship-to-shore cranes.

Kalmar Upgrades Bristol Port's STS Crane

Repeat DP World Antwerp Gateway Order for Kalmar

Kalmar, part of Cargotec, has been awarded the contract to heighten three ZPMC ship-to-shore (STS) cranes operated by DP World Antwerp Gateway NV. The order was booked in Cargotec's 2016 first quarter order intake, and the project is scheduled for completion during the second quarter of 2017. The order continues Kalmar's long-standing relationship with DP World, a leading global operator of marine and inland terminals. The Antwerp Gateway terminal is continuing its expansion in anticipation of significant growth in container movements and in response to the ever-increasing size of vessels. Kalmar will be responsible for the planning, engineering and execution of the heightening as well as commissioning of the project.

Kalmar to Upgrade MSC Terminal VLC (Valencia) Cranes

Kalmar, part of Cargotec, has announced a large contract to heighten and extend the handling capabilities of eight ship-to-shore (STS) cranes at MSC Terminal VLC in Valencia, Spain. The order is the largest ever for Kalmar Crane Upgrades business. The project was signed into Cargotec's 2015 third quarter intake, and all cranes are scheduled to be operational by mid-2017. MSC Terminal VLC has chosen to upgrade their STS cranes to accommodate larger vessels in anticipation of growth in container movements. The Paceco cranes are currently limited to a maximum vessel size of 16,000 TEUs. Kalmar will extend the boom on all eight cranes by six metres and heighten six of the cranes by 10 metres, increasing the terminal's capacity to serve ships carrying up to 19,000 TEU (MSC OSCAR type).

Kalmar to Refurbish 2 Ship-to-Shore Cranes

Kalmar, part of Cargotec, has received an order to retrofit both electrically and mechanically two ship-to-shore (STS) cranes for Alexandria Container & Cargo Handling Co. (ACCHCO) at the Port of Alexandria, Egypt. The order was signed into Cargotec's 2015 second quarter order intake, and the project is planned to be completed by the end of 2015. The value of the order is approximately $3.9 million. The cranes, originally supplied by Cerretti Tanfany, have been operational since 1995. The cranes will be fully refurbished both electrically and mechanically, replacing the most critical components in order to extend the lifetime of the cranes. The works include the replacement of the current spreaders by Bromma spreaders that will be supplied as part of the retrofit works.

Kalmar to Heighten STS Cranes of DP World Antwerp

Kalmar, part of Cargotec, has been awarded the contract to heighten three Kalmar ship-to-shore (STS) cranes operated by DP World Antwerp Gateway NV. The order was signed into Cargotec's first quarter of 2015 order intake, with the completion of the project scheduled to take place in the first quarter of 2016. Kalmar will be responsible for the turnkey project, including planning and engineering, the execution of the heightening, and commissioning. The cranes, which have been operational since 2005, are to be heightened by six metres to accommodate larger vessels entering the port. This is in anticipation of significant growth in container movements.

Kalmar to heighten 3 STS cranes for TCB in Spain

Kalmar, part of Cargotec, has been awarded the contract to increase the operating height of three ship-to-shore (STS) cranes by six metres for Terminal de Contenidors de Barcelona, S.L. (TCB) in Spain. The project has been generated in anticipation of increased container traffic brought about by the arrival of larger vessels at the port of Barcelona. The order was signed in April 2014. The work is expected to begin in the third quarter of 2014 with completion for all three cranes by the end of this year. Terminal de Contenidors de Barcelona at Muelle Sur wharf, with a current annual capacity of 2.3 million TEU, is one of the main logistics platforms in the Mediterranean.

BAE Systems Awarded Second Contract for SBX-1

BAE Systems has been awarded a second contract from Boeing for work on the Sea-Based X-Band Radar (SBX-1), a floating, self-propelled, mobile missile warning radar station. The radar arrived at BAE Systems Hawaii Shipyards in Pearl Harbor from Alaska on June 26 and will remain there through February 2008. The company had previously performed maintenance work on the SBX-1 in 2006. BAE Systems will conduct maintenance and systems upgrades to include fuel oil tank cleaning; tow bridle repairs; a deadweight survey; antenna installation; catwalk and ladder repairs; crane upgrades and additions; galley and scullery upgrades; and will install a quick launch recovery boat. SBX-1 is part of the United States Missile Defense System, operated by the Missile Defense Agency.
