Otto Marine Limited, an offshore marine company, announced that further to a long-term bareboat charter contract that was secured in June 2015, it has taken delivery of a 238-man work maintenance Vessel to fulfill that charter. The delivery ceremony for the vessel, Nautical Aliya, was held at a shipyard in China today. Nautical Aliya is the first unit of the DPS-2 work maintenance vessel series completed. The second unit is currently under construction and will be completed by the end of this year. The vessel measures 85 meters in length and 23 meters in width.

Thrustmaster of Texas, a manufacturer of commercial marine propulsion products, signed a deal last week to expand its Houston-based production facility by 100,000 sqft (93,000 sq m). Thrustmaster said the multimillion dollar investment has been in the making for two years and is scheduled for completion in the summer of 2015 by Third Coast General Contractors. OW Bunker has entered into a partnership with Petrocosta CI SA, a Colombian fuel marketing and transportation company. The agreement will further develop OW Bunker’s physical distribution network of marine fuel in Colombia and support its growth across Latin America. Petrocosta’s responsibilities will include the sourcing, blending, storage and transportation of marine fuel products. OW Bunker will handle the sale and marketing of products through its existing network, as well as provide risk management and other related services. L-3 Communications announced that its Klein Associates, Inc. division (L-3 Klein) has appointed Rick Morton as Sales Manager for their Side Scan Sonar Systems. Working with other members of the Klein team, Mr. Morton will be responsible for implementing Klein’s strategy to multiply its sales of domestic and international Side Scan and Multi-Beam Sonar Systems. With over 10 years experience in hydrographic and oceanographic markets, both as a salesman and in the field, Mr. Morton is ideally suited to further expand and enhance Klein’s valued customer network. Mr. Morton was most recently with Reson, Inc. in Goleta, CA as an Area Sales Manager responsible for Multi-beam and Single beam Sonar sales in the eastern half of North America.
