MJP Appoints Regional Director for Americas

Marine Jet Power (MJP) has appointed Michael Rickey as President and Regional Director of Marine Jet Power, Inc. effective as of December, 2. Rickey will be responsible for business development in the Americas region, where the company holds a corporate office in Blacklick, Ohio.Prior to joining MJP, Rickey enjoyed a 24-year career with American Honda, where he began in 1995 as an assistant manager for export sales. Since then, he has served in several senior roles within the organization from operational to business development. Most recently serving as Senior Manager for Honda Marine.

Rickey was named Senior Manager, Honda Marine, effective April 1, 2018.In this capacity he oversees total sales, operations and application engineering activities for the U.S. region, working to increase volume through the execution of competitive pricing; sales channel expansion; strategic advertising and promotional campaigns; and enhanced communications with OEM and dealer channels.Before his current role, Rickey most recently served as Senior Manager, Engines and Export Sales for the Honda Engines group.

Honda Marine Debuts Concept BF250 Outboard

Honda Marine announced that it will be adding an all-new flagship outboard engine model to its reliable and fuel efficient lineup. Debuting at the 2011 Miami International Boat Show, the concept BF250 engine provides the first indication of the design direction for the all-new 250 horsepower (hp) outboard, which will be available to boaters in late 2011. Honda Marine’s New BF115 Outboard

Honda Marine has added the BF115 to its lineup of fuel-injected four-stroke outboard engines. Introduced in 2010, the redesigned BF115 is derived from the inline 4-cylinder 2.4 liter DOHC engine platform used in Honda’s Accord automobile. This engine, coupled with other advanced technologies, is able to produce performance with fuel efficiency and reliability and features design cues similar to its recent predecessors, the BF40 and BF50, BF75 and BF90 and 105 Jet. The BF115 also incorporates the wing-form design of the cowling and a performance-oriented gear case.

Company Earns Recognition for Seventh Consecutive Year

Honda Marine announced that it has received the Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) Award for Excellence in Customer Satisfaction for outboard engines in 2010 from the National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA). This award marks the seventh consecutive year that Honda Marine has secured the honor. The NMMA will formally recognize this year’s award recipients at the upcoming International Boat Builder's Exhibition (IBEX) show and conference, scheduled for September 28 - 30 at the Kentucky Exposition Center in Louisville, Kentucky.

The first ever unassisted crossing of the North Atlantic just south of the arctic circle in a small, open, Rigid Inflatable Boat (RIB) has been completed by a team of dedicated adventurers led by Bear Grylls. Traveling from Nova Scotia to John O'Groats via a route which passed just south of the Arctic Circle, the expedition, which has raised around $80,000 for the UK young persons' charity, The Prince's Trust, has been completed a week ahead of schedule despite encountering icebergs and horrendous weather conditions. The expedition, which involved a five-man team sailing the open boat across 3,000 miles of the North Atlantic on a route that saw landfall in Halifax…

D.F. International logistics service provider D.F. Young, Inc. has announced the relocation of its headquarters office from New York City to Jersey City, N.J. in the first quarter of 2001. The company is leasing 14,000 sq. ft. at 1 Journal Square in Jersey City, after operating from downtown New York for most of its 97-year history. "When this company was started in 1903, all the shipping companies and banks were located in downtown Manhattan," said Thomas Mosimann, president of D.F. Young. "But the port has moved, and most of the other forwarders have followed it to New Jersey over the last 10 to 15 years. D.F.Young already has its Marine Department located in Port Elizabeth, N.J., as well as offices across the U.S. in Jamaica, N.Y.

Zodiac Enters Agreement to Expand Engine Options

Zodiac of North America (ZNA) has entered into an agreement with Honda Marine to offer Zodiac rigid inflatable boats pre-rigged for Honda engines. Zodiac already has such an agreement with Yamaha. All Honda Marine outboard motors now feature four-stroke designs, with models ranging from 2-130 hp. Yamaha offers a full line of two-stroke marine engines and four-stroke engines up to 115 hp. Customers of any ZNA leisure boat dealer may now request their Zodiac boat be delivered from the manufacturer pre-rigged for either a Yamaha or Honda engine. ZNA dealers carrying Honda engines can sell and install the Honda engine at the dealership, or request factory pre-packaged boat and morot combinations.
