Rem Offshore Orders New CSOV from Vard
Norway-based offshore vessel owner Rem Offshore has signed a contract with shipbuilder Vard for the design and construction of a new commissioning service operation vessel (CSOV) for offshore wind services.This will be the third CSOV Vard will deliver to Rem Offshore. The first two, REM Power and REM Wind, were delivered in 2023 and 2024 respectively.The CSOV is tailored to provide services during the construction, operation, and maintenance of offshore wind farms worldwide.It will feature VARD 4 19 design, developed by Vard Design in Ålesund.

Radio Holland and BIO-SEA are partnering to provide global integration solutions for ballast water treatment (BWT): Radio Holland provides the installation and service expertise, while BIO-SEA provides its ballast water treatment UV based system range. The ballast water treatment installations will filter and disinfect the ballast water. This disinfection will be done by means of UV-C light. TGS Begins Seismic 3D Survey West of Scotland
TGS says it has commenced acquisition of a new 3D multi-client survey in the West of Shetland region.The survey will cover 2,500km2 and will tie into TGS' existing 3D library in the region, bringing the total volume of recent TGS 3D in the area to more than 17,500 km2. The broadband seismic data will be acquired by the M/V Polarcus Naila towing 12 streamers at 6,000 m cable length. Data processing will be performed by TGS using its proven proprietary broadband technology, Clari-FiTM. Initial data will be available to clients in Q4 2014. "TGS is pleased to announce the industry's first 3D data over the Brendan Basin in UKCS Quad 219" commented Stein Ove Isaksen, Senior VP Eastern Hemisphere for TGS. TGS Signs LOI for Seabird Exploration Seismic Vessel Charters
Norway-based TGS informs that it has signed a Letter of Intent with Seabird Exploration to charter up to four 2D seismic vessels to be used over the next 36 months. The Letter of Intent gives TGS priority rights to the vessels subject to the issuance of seismic acquisition permits for the offshore waters of Mexico. In December 2013, Mexico's Congress gave final approval to a historic energy reform bill that ends the 75-year state monopoly of the country's oil and gas industry and invites foreign investment.

Alion to Help Ontario Ministry of Transportation Acquire New Ferry
Alion Canada was awarded a $1.3 million contract to assist the Ministry of Transportation in Ontario, Canada, in securing a replacement ferry for the Motor Vessel (MV) Pelee Islander. First launched in 1960, the current Pelee Islander runs from Pelee Island, Ontario north to Kingsville and Learnington, and south to Sandusky, Ohio. Alion Canada will serve as the Ministry’s “owner’s expert” and provide naval architecture, marine engineering and vessel construction expertise during vessel design and construction. Under the contract, Alion Canada will provide technical oversight from design through delivery of the replacement ferry. Two ferries currently operate on the island: The Pelee Islander is the older one and carries 196 passengers and 14 vehicles.
Barents Sea 3D Seismic Survey Contracts for TGS
Norway-based TGS will commence the Europe 2013 acquisition season with two 3D multi-client surveys in the Norwegian Barents Sea. The two surveys, both supported by industry funding, involve the Finnmark Platform 2013 (FP13) covering 3,500 km2 and the Hoop to Fingerdjupet 2013 (HF13) covering 8,600 km2. Both 3D seismic surveys cover areas of complex geology and are designed to address specific customer imaging requirements. Data from both surveys will be processed utilizing TGS' proven Clari-FiTM broadband processing technology. The HF13 survey will also tie-in TGS' successful Hoop 3D in the east. The FP 13 survey is scheduled to commence during March 2013 and will be acquired by the M/V Geo Barents towing 8 streamers.
Singapore Navy Patrol Boat Order for ST Engineering
Singapore Technologies Engineering wins Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) contract for the design & build of eight new vessels. The Group’s marine arm, Singapore Technologies Marine Ltd (ST Marine) will build the eight vessels at its Singapore Benoi Yard. Singapore Technologies Electronics Limited (ST Electronics), the Group’s electronics arm, will supply the core combat systems and combat system integration solutions. ST Marine will carry out the platform system integration as the lead system integrator.

TGS has commenced acquisition of a 3D multi-client survey, Sunfish, which covers up to 7,800 km2 of highly prospective acreage in the Harper Basin, offshore Liberia. "This survey provides excellent data coverage for the source prone, syn-rift and early post-rift sequences, in this highly prospective area offshore Liberia. TGS has been active in acquiring data over the West Africa Transform margin for the past decade and this survey demonstrates TGS' ongoing commitment to grow the seismic data library in Africa," commented Stein Ove Isaksen, Senior VP Eastern Hemisphere for TGS. The lake, popular with anglers and nature-lovers, covers 180 km2 (70 mi2) in the deep basin of Central Alberta, Canada. The Ille Lake survey is optimized and designed to evaluate multiple zones from the Cardium and the Upper & Lower Mannville (Glauconite, Ostracod & Basal Quartz Oil), through to the newly emerging Duvernay unconventional play. In addition to the survey's optimal acquisition parameters, Arcis provides proprietary tools that will enhance imaging and rock property assessments for even greater assistance with the placement of horizontal wells.

Alion Part of Winning Team Awarded $8 Billion Canadian Shipbuilding Contract. Technology Solutions Firm to Support Design and Engineering for Non-combat Vessels. Alion Awarded $169.7M Contract
Alion Science and Technology won a contract to support the Navy’s Amphibious Warfare Program Office in their efforts to satisfy both current and future Navy/Marine Corps needs for Amphibious Warfare. Alion’s efforts include supporting the acquisition and production of the Navy's LHA (R) class and their next generation connector, Ship to Shore Connector (SSC). Alion will also support the Service Life Extension Program (SLEP) of their current Connector, the Landing Craft, Air Cushion (LCAC). The award, a delivery order under the NAVSEA SeaPort Enhanced (SeaPort-e) contract, has a potential value of $169.7 million over five years. The base year value is approximately $26.1 million.
Alion Wins $15M Navy Contract
