AEGIR-Marine has announced the appointment of Peter Ritskes as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective July 1st, 2025. Peter succeeds Jaap de Lange, who led the company withdedication and vision over the past five years.Under Jaap’s leadership, AEGIR-Marine strengthened its position in the global maritime industry, expanding its network with new offices in the Americas, Dubai, Greece, and Türkiye. DSCT Loan for CNC Pipe-bending Machine
As part of its commitment to accelerate transformation in the South African shipbuilding industry, Damen Shipyards Cape Town (DSCT) has recently helped to empower Africa Projects Consultants; a small, 100% black-owned business focused on the shipbuilding and ship repair sectors, via a R5 million ($354,000) interest-free loan to purchase a state-of-the-art pipe-bending machine. Damen Takes Control of Curaçao Yard
Damen Shiprepair & Conversion (DSC) has taken over the management of the Curaçao Droogdok Maatschappij (CDM) as of February 1, 2017, following an agreement between the Government of Curaçao and Damen Shipyards Group in September 2016. The location will now continue its activities under the name of Damen Shiprepair Curaçao (DSCu). With this step in Curaçao, part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Damen expands its ship repair activities across the Trans-Atlantic Ocean. Damen Shiprepair & Conversion group currently operates 42 dry docks in 16 shipyards worldwide.
Damen Signs MOU with Sydney City Marine
Damen Shipyards Group and Sydney City Marine have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) outlining the future cooperation of the two companies concerning the repair and maintenance of Damen-built vessels in Australia and New Zealand. The MOU lays the groundwork for expansion of Damen’s Services network in Australia. Detailing the future working relationship between the two companies, the MOU’s principle agreement states that Sydney City Marine will perform repair and maintenance works of Damen vessels.
Nederex, Damen Shipyards sign MOU with CPA
Curacao Ports Authority NV ("CPA") signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Nederex BV. (Nederex) and B.V. Damen Shipyards Gorinchem (Damen) on the 30th of April. Damen Shipyards and Nederex are engaged in ship repair and the provision of maritime services. Last year CPA and Nederex signed a concession agreement with regard to the activities of Nederex within the St. Anna Bay, from an area which is managed by CPA. "This cooperation is an important step in the right direction," said Humberto de Castro, CPA's CEO. Damen is located in the Netherlands and operates 32 other ship and repair yards worldwide, with more than 9,000 people. Damen will offer its ship repair and marine services from Curacao and will work together with Nederex to exploit the concession granted by CPA to Nederex.
