The global marine diesel engine market is estimated to grow at CAGR above 3.9% over the forecast time frame and reach the market value around US$ 8.1 billion by 2026.The worldwide market for marine diesel engines has expanded mainly as shipping industry needs to decrease carbon emissions, said Acumen Research and Consulting.The shipping industry focuses on developing higher-efficient diesel engines that use less diesel while offering more ship propulsion. Containers Market to Grow by 6.5%

The shipping containers market estimated to grow with a CAGR of 6.5% during the forecast period from 2018 to 2026, said a report.According to ResearchAndMarkets' latest report, the number of goods carried by shipping containers witnessed an extravagant grow from 102 million metric tons in 1980 to 1.83 billion metric tons in 2017.The quantity is projected to claim more than 60% of the world seaborne trade and almost 90% of the non-bulk cargo transported across the globe, it said.The number is quite promising and anticipated to proliferate significantly in the coming years.

The Massachusetts Port Authority (Massport) announced another record year for the Port of Boston’s Paul W. Cocaine Seized in Philadelphia Port

Dublin-based maritime transportation group Irish Continental Group (ICG) has entered into a bareboat hire purchase agreement for the sale of the cruise ferry “Oscar Wilde” to MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company.The total consideration for the sale is EUR28.9m, payable in instalments over six years, up to 2025.Delivery to the buyer is expected to take place this month, said a company release.Built in 1987, the Oscar Wilde was bought by ICG in 2007 and operated on Irish Ferries’ route to France.
