CMI Inks Licensing Deal with GTT for Membrane Technologies
French engineering firm GTT said it has signed a technical assistance and license agreement with China Merchants Heavy Industries-Jiangsu (CMHI-Jiangsu), a subsidiary of shipbuilding group China Merchants Industry Holdings (CMI), enabling the yard to construct vessels using GTT membrane technologies.GTT and China Merchant Industry Holdings have been cooperating for a decade, with a first Technical Service Agreement signed in 2013 for the maintenance and repair of LNGCs. A cooperation agreement has also been initiated in 2016 for the evaluation of CMHI to implement GTT technologies.
DNV GL Approves GTT's LNG Fuel Tech for ULCVs
French engineering firm GTT said it has received approval in principle (AIP) for the NO96 containment system application as a liquefied natural gas (LNG) fuel tank for ultra large container vessels (ULCV) from the classification society DNV GL.GTT and DNV GL reviewed the compatibility of the NO96 technology within a container vessel hull to ensure that the integration of such a containment system is fit for purpose. French technology firm Gaztransport and Technigaz (GTT) has signed a technical assistance and license agreement (TALA) for the use of its membrane solutions for liquefied natural gas (LNG) vessels with Chinese shipyard Wison Offshore & Marine (WOM).The deal covers equipment of floating liquefied natural gas units (FLNG), floating storage and regasification units (FSRU), floating storage regasification power (FSRP) units and LNG carriers, using membrane solutions developed by the French LNG containment specialist.WOM is a pioneer in floating LNG in China, being the first in the world to deliver barge-based FLNG and FSRU on a turn-key basis.
GTT Reports Strong H1 Order Book
French liquefied natural gas (LNG) containment system specialist GTT has posted a strong first-half order intake at the end of June corresponded to revenues of 713 million euros over the 2019-2022 period in its core business, which excludes LNG vessel propulsion systems and related services.The order book at the end of June had increased 27.4% year-on-year to 107 units. Keppel Offshore & Marine (Keppel O&M) has signed a Technical Assistance and License Agreement (TALA) with Gaztransport & Technigaz (GTT) that will enable the companies to jointly market liquefied natural gas (LNG) solutions leveraging GTT's membrane containment systems and Keppel's shipyard expertise.Keppel O&M's network of global yards will be able to offer GTT's LNG systems in the design, construction and maintenance of LNG carriers, LNG Bunker vessels, LNG-fuelled vessels, and floating storage and regasification units (FSRU).Since completing its first LNG carrier repair in 1990, Keppel O&M has developed a wealth of experience in cryogenics, and developed a suite of solutions across the LNG value chain.
Hyundai Mipo Dockyard Licensed by GTT
GTT has signed a Technical Assistance and License Agreement (TALA) with South Korean shipbuilder Hyundai Mipo Dockyard (HMD) targeting the outfitting of gas carriers, in particular small and middle scale (up to 50,000 m3) and liquefied natural gas (LNG) fuel tanks for merchant ships.Hyundai Mipo obtained its license after completing a qualification process that began in April 2018, including the construction of a Mark III Flex mockup and an audit lead by GTT.The shipyard is now the third among the Hyundai group to be licensed by GTT. GTT Revenue Grows Thanks to Strong LNG Market
French liquefied natural gas containment system specialist Gaztransport & Technigaz (GTT), on the back of liquefied natural gas (LNG) market growth, reported 12% growth in revenues linked to royalties for the first half of 2018.Growth in LNG fuel and new partnerships aided the company achieving a revenue of 127.2 million euros ($148.2 million) during the first half of this year compared to 113.7 million euros recorded in the first half of 2017.GTT said that it has received 21 orders during the first six months of the year.Philippe Berterottière, Chairman and CEO of GTT, said: "The first half of 2018 was characterised by the growth in the LNG market, with a very satisfying number of orders for LNG carriers, which confirms the trends that began last year.
GTT, Sembcorp Ink Membrane Tank Solutions Deal
GTT has signed a Technical Assistance and License Agreement (TALA) with Singapore-based Sembcorp Marine for the design and construction of Sembcorp Marine's Gravifloat, FSRU and mid-scale LNG carrier products, using GTT membrane solutions. Sembcorp Marine is a provider of engineering solutions for the offshore, marine and energy sectors, operating a total of nine shipyards in Singapore, Indonesia, the U.K. and Brazil. HHI to Build FSRU for Höegh LNG
A new Floating Storage and Regasification Unit (FSRU) will be built by the Korean shipbuilding Company Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI). This FSRU will be the fifth in the series at HHI and the seventh in total owned by the Norwegian Company Höegh LNG. Gaztransport & Technigaz (GTT), a designer of membrane containment systems for the maritime transportation and storage of liquefied natural gas (LNG), announced it has received an order to supply membrane technologies for the FSRU. The regasification unit is expected to be delivered in 2017 and will be built with Mark III technology. The cargo tanks will be equipped with an optimized containment system configuration to allow all partial filling ability.
US Shipyard to Produce GTT's LNG Membrane Tanks
Gaztransport & Technigaz (GTT), a designer of membrane containment systems for the maritime transportation and storage of liquefied natural gas (LNG), via its U.S. subsidiary GTT North America, announced the signing of an agreement with Conrad Shipyard for the future production of LNG membrane tanks using GTT's technology. The signing of an agreement initiates the process of training and preparing Conrad Shipyard, a major U.S. shipbuilder, to offer GTT's membrane containment technologies for LNG storage, transportation and fuel tanks. The training process will include the construction of a membrane tank model to exhibit Conrad Shipyard's manufacturing and installation expertise.
