STAHL Technology Group, Tranberg offers offshore, marine and helideck lighting control solutions. W&O will assume exclusive distribution responsibilities in North America for Tranberg’s nonhazardous lighting to include helideck and navigation. In addition, W&O will also offer Tranberg’s Circle and H systems and other marine lighting systems to the maritime industry. “W&O has been looking to offer marine lighting for some time,” said Michael Hume, President & CEO of W&O.

W&O announced that it has acquired Engine Monitor Inc. (EMI) . Based in St. Rose, La., EMI provides engineering and manufacturing as a marine integrator of critical vessel monitoring and control systems. In addition, EMI offers after-the-sale support via a highly skilled field service team, expert in-house repair capabilities and a diverse engineering team. “W&O and EMI have collaborated on a number of successful projects over the years'” said Michael Hume, President/CEO of W&O. By combining resources, W&O and EMI will accelerate the growth and market share of both companies.

W&O announced its opposition to the McCain Amendment (amendment #2) to S.1, which it said would cripple the U.S. shipbuilding industry by striking the U.S. build requirement provisions of the Jones Act. “The amendment Senator John McCain has put forth would devastate W&O’s business and others operating in the maritime industry. W&O is one of the partners that supported Vigor in the $40m project to build and deliver the largest floating drydock in the U.S. – Vigor Industrial’s Vigorous –  which was delivered recently to its new home in Portland on the Willamette River. W&O provided an actuated valve solution for the ballast system of the drydock, and from design specification through initial commissioning, the W&O team provided technical and product support  for the Vigorous ballast system, a system that uses SPACE Gate Valves, EIM Electric Actuators, reach rods and deck stands.

The marine industry watched as the United States’ largest floating drydock, the Vigorous, was delivered to its final home at Vigor Industrial’s Portland shipyard on the Willamette River in August. Regional Manager Positions Created to Better Serve Customers. W&O, the United States’ largest supplier of marine valves, pipe, fittings, engineered products, valve automation and data management systems, announced today that it has transformed its corporate structure to better serve its customers and foster continued growth at its North American and European operations. The company has created six regional management positions for a more strategic approach to the marketplace.

W&O Supply, a supplier of marine valves, pipe, fittings, engineered products, valve automation and data management systems, has established operations in Brazil, with the first office located in Rio de Janeiro. “The growing marine and offshore industries in Brazil provide incredible opportunity for us,” said Michael Hume, President and CEO of W&O. “Establishing commercial operations in South America is a necessary step in implementing our growth strategies for this decade, and the new office in Rio is a key driver in cultivating a future network of operations throughout the continent. The Brazil business is led by Alex Piquer, W&O’s managing director for all South America operations.

W&O launched a new branch in Halifax, Canada. The new branch is located at 133 Ilsley Avenue, Dartmouth, NS B3B 1S9. With a branch already established in Vancouver, W&O’s growing Canadian presence well-positions them to support the completion of the Canadian Navy’s $35 billion fleet expansion program over the next 20 to 30 years. “Our established Halifax and Vancouver locations provide us with a competitive advantage over other non-Canadian competitors,” said Michael Hume, President and CEO of W&O.
