AAL Shipping Delivers Four Cranes to Port of Oslo
Shipping firm AAL Shipping has recently delivered four of the largest rubber-tyred gantry cranes (RTGs) in its history to the Port of Oslo, Norway. The mobile cranes, measuring 36 m in height and 28 m in length, were transported from Taicang in China to Oslo on a single sailing aboard the 31,000 deadweight multipurpose vessel (MPV), the AAL Pusan. Boskalis Profits Fall, Fleet Cut on Weak Oil
Marine construction company Boskalis expects a drop in net profit this year as depressed commodity prices hit demand for oil-related infrastructure, it said on Wednesday. Its shares fell 10 percent to 32.42 euros in early trading. "Volumes and prices are under pressure, which is also translating into our order book," Chief Executive Peter Berdowski said in a statement. Boskalis's order book fell to 2.49 billion euros ($2.7 billion) at the end of 2015 from 3.29 billion in December 2014. "In addition, we are taking a critical look at reducing the cost of the global office network," it said.

Selex ES Provides Further VSAT Solutions
The UK Marine business of Selex ES, a Finmeccanica company, has completed a contract to supply a Ku-Band Very Small Aperture Terminal (VSAT) system, including a five-year airtime package, for use on the Serco vessel SD Victoria. VSAT engineers from Selex ESâ UK office network carried out the installation and commissioning, beginning in Greenock and completing in Portland. This is the second successful Selex ES deployment of VSAT for Serco and complements that previously supplied to the SD Northern River. Eimskip, Containerships and Kursiu Linija form Joint Venture
Shipping and logistics company Eimskip, Lithuania's Kursiu Linija and Finnish shipping and container company Container Finance Ltd have joined forces to create a door-to-door logistics providers. The new joint-venture company Containerships Group will be based in Helsinki and will operate eleven ships on services linking east and west Europe, the Baltic States and Russia. It will be the cornerstone of a much larger alliance including the services of its parent companies. Eimskip, which earlier this year completed the purchase of Kursiu Linija, has purchased 65 per cent of Containerships Group, the shipowning and logistics arm of Finland's Container Finance Ltd. Kursiu Linija will become a subsidiary of Containerships Group.
