Havfram Bags Senegalese Mooring Pre-Lay Contract from MODEC

Offshore services company Havfram announced it has been awarded a contract from MODEC Offshore Production Systems (Singapore) Pte Ltd. Furetank Inks Biogas Supply Deal

Swedish shipping company Furetank announced it has signed a letter of intent with Eskilstuna Biogas, enabling the development of a new biogas plant producing around 5,000 tonnes of LBG annually.Furetank commits to buying at least 75% of the produced fuel for 10 years. The gas will be extracted from manure and food waste from the municipalities of Eskilstuna and Strängnäs. It is upgraded to a 100% waste-based, fossil-free and renewable biofuel, LBG.For Furetank, the move is a big step toward its switch from liquefied natural gas (LNG) to LBG as a marine fuel…

Technip Energies Hires Havfram for Tortue Ahmeyim FPSO Work

ExxonMobil is supplying Mobilgard ADL 40 engine oil for Color Hybrid, Color Line’s latest addition to its fleet of ferries. 'Plug-in' Hybrid Ship Launched

Norwegian shipbuilder Ulstein has launched the world’s largest plug-in hybrid ship at its Ulstein Verft.The vessel is now undergoing completion work prior to her delivery this summer.Present at Ulstein Verft at this Sunday launch was the site team from Color Line, all anticipating to see the ship in her right element.Several hundred yard workers, in multiple disciplines, are now working in a big team together with the Color Line crew to complete the vessel before she is put to service between Sandefjord (Norway) and Strömstad (Sweden).The RoPax vessel measures 160m in length and 27.1m in the beam. She can carry 2,000 passengers and 500 cars.The vessel, being a plug-in hybrid, can switch to batteries on parts of her journey.

Color Line and Ulstein Verft marked the construction start-up on the world's largest plug-in hybrid ship, the 'Color Hybrid'. Ulstein Verft to Finalise Color Hybrid

The hull of the 'Color Hybrid', European cruiseferry line Color Line's next flag ship that will be servicing Sandefjord-Strömstad, has arrived Ulstein Verft for completion.The ship is contracted by Color Line at Ulstein Verft and is scheduled for delivery Q2 2019, said a press release from the largest cruiseferry line operating on routes to and from Norway.The ship presents an increased capacity on the line between Norway and Sweden. The Interlake Steamship Company announced that it will repower its last steamship, the S.S. Herbert C. Jackson, with a highly automated diesel propulsion system in the final phase of a 10-year, $100 million modernization effort to create the most efficient, reliable and environmentally friendly fleet on the Great Lakes. The six-month diesel conversion, which is slated to begin in mid-December, is the fifth major overhaul to Interlake’s fleet and its fourth steam-to-diesel conversion since 2006.

Both JSC Klaipeda Transport Fleet (KTF) and JSC Lithuanian Shipping Company are set to hit the theoretical auction block. Following are key details of both auctions. KTF is one of the largest Lithuanian shipping companies, whose principal activities are transportation of refrigerated cargo by sea and lease of sea transport vessels. The state holds and offers 105,800,225 (80.89 percent) shares in the company at the starting price of 48,668 thous.LTL (1 EUR=3.4528 LTL).
