HHLA Reports 8.3% Growth in Revenue

Hamburger Hafen und Logistik AG, HHLA, the company that operates three out of four of Hamburg’s container terminals, continued its positive performance in the first nine months of 2019.The total revenue was 1.04 billion euros, an increase of 8.3 percent, said the German logistics and transportation company.The operating result (EBIT) improved strongly by € 19.3 million, or 12.4 percent, to € 175.4 million. The positive effects of the initial application of IFRS 16 in the EBIT amounted to approximately € 10.6 million.

Silenskis held the position of director of KN Oil business.The selection procedure of the new CEO was carried out by Independent Board of KN in cooperation with international executive search companies applying the best corporate governance practices. 26 candidates applied for the position, said the operator of the KlaipÄ—da Oil Terminal.D. Moda Midstream to Enhance MIEC to Allow VLCC's

U.S. oil export terminal operator Moda Midstream LLC said on Thursday it has begun to enhance its Moda Ingleside Energy Center (MIEC) in Ingleside, Texas, to allow the docking of larger-sized vessels.Moda has begun structural enhancements and dredging to Berth 5 and improvements to Berth 4, which will allow for the docking of Suezmax class vessels and Very Large Crude Carriers (VLCCs), respectively, the company said in a statement.The company said it was evaluating construction of an additional pipeline called the Moda Ingleside Express Pipeline…

JAXPORT Sets Cargo Records

Florida’s largest container port achieved record volumes in containers, vehicles and overall tonnage during the fiscal year ending September 30, 2019.The Jacksonville Port Authority (JAXPORT) moved more than 1.338 million twenty-foot equivalent units (or TEUs, the industry standard for measuring containers), a 5 percent increase over 2018, which was also a record year in container volumes for the port. Fire Reported on Tanker at Sture Terminal

A fire onboard an oil tanker at Norway's Sture crude export terminal has been put out, the fire service told Reuters on Friday.The fire broke out in the engine room of the Dubai Harmony tanker during loading at the Equinor oil terminal on Norway's west coast, according to rescue services and police.No one was injured, and the terminal's output was not affected by the incident, although there was a partial evacuation of staff."The head of the response team on the site confirms that the fire was put out at 1257 CET (1057 GMT)…

Freeport Ships First LNG Commissioning Cargo

HHLA Group Revenue Up 9.6 %

Savannah Port Moves Record 4.5M TEUs

The port and terminal operator International Container Terminal Services (ICTSI) said that  its flagship Manila International Container Terminal (MICT)  recently took delivery of another new quay crane (QC) and eight new hybrid rubber tired gantries (RTGs).According to a press release, the terminal has the largest fleet of modern container-handling equipment in the Philippines today with 18 QCs and 58 RTGs.Manufactured by Shanghai Zhenhua Heavy Industry Co. Ltd. (ZPMC), the QC is part of the five from ICTSI’s 2018 USD80-million capacity improvement program package.

Indonesia Gets 1st Kalmar Eco Reachstacker

Kalmar, the provider of cargo-handling solutions and services to ports, has signed a contract with Cikarang Dry Port, for the delivery of the first Kalmar Eco Reachstacker in Indonesia. Kalmar is part of Cargotec group.The order was booked into Cargotec’s 2019 second quarter order intake and scheduled for delivery in July of 2019.Cikarang Dry Port is a public inland port located in the eastern corridor of greater Jakarta. RoPax Ferry Finbo Cargo Enters Muuga Port

The Estonian terminal operator HHLA TK Estonia is strengthening its position as a RoRo hub in the Baltic region.The wholly owned subsidiary of Hamburger Hafen und Logistik AG (HHLA) said in a press release that the Finnish ferry company Eckerö Line recently began connecting the port of Muuga, where HHLA TK Estonia operates a multi-function terminal, with Vuosaari in Finland. Fumigation Doesn't Work for Some Ship Cargoes
