Topaz Completes Milestone of Vopak Project

Topaz Energy and Marine Ltd. through its subsidiary Nico International, part of the newly established Topaz Engineering division has successfully completed the first milestone activity of a project for Vopak Horizon Ltd., Fujairah. The project was awarded to Nico by Interbeton (currently being rebranded as BAM International), Abu Dhabi in November last year for the design, fabrication & installation of offshore trestles and pipes. The project is due for completion in December 2009.

Topaz Acquires MSV

Topaz Marine recently confirmed the acquisition of the Multipurpose Support Vessel (MPSV) Ocean Commander in . The vessel has been renamed Topaz Commander and joins Topaz Marines’ fleet of around 100 vessels. Built in 1999 in Myklebust as a 84 m UT 745 Platform Supply Vessel (PSV), the addition of a 50t knuckle boom crane makes the Topaz Commander a highly competent MPSV. She is classed as a DP2 vessel and features twin thrusters aft, a tunnel thruster and drop azimuth forward. At 4,263 DWT and 840 sq. m. of clear deck space, Topaz Commander is among the largest vessels in Topaz’s fleet.

Topaz Signs Contract with Kuwait Oil Company

Renaissance subsidiary, Topaz Marine Engineering (“Topaz”), a UAE-based full service ship building, ship repair and engineering services company, confirms it has been commissioned by the Kuwait Oil Company (“KOC”) to design, build and deliver 10 Fast Steel Crew /Pilot Boats of 22m LOA (“Crew/Pilot Boats”), market estimates believe the contract value to be in the region of US$50 million. With a focus on high technology and latest design, the Crew/Pilot boat will be designed to accommodate 30 crew, with passengers all seated on the main deck and will be provided with first quality equipment.

Topaz Adds OSV to Support BP Contract

Topaz Marine, a division of Topaz Energy and Marine recently acquired the Caspian Provider, an advanced Platform Supply Vessel (PSV), to join the company’s fleet on a four-year contract in Azerbaijan with a value in excess of $40m. The Caspian Provider will be working out of Baku, Azerbaijan, on a contract with oil and gas major BP won by Topaz Energy and Marine, in 2008. The Caspian Provider joins four sister ships already under the management of the Topaz Marine Azerbaijan unit. The Caspian Provider is the fourth vessel delivered to the company after construction in the Simek Yard in Norway.

Topaz Wins Sharjah Ferry Contract

The UAE-based full service ship building, ship repair and engineering services company, Topaz Marine Engineering confirms it has been commissioned by the Government of Sharjah – Al Diwan Al Amiri to build and deliver one Catamaran passenger ferry boa. With a focus on passenger luxury and efficiency, the catamaran will be designed to accommodate 40 people, with passengers all seated on the main deck. It will be used to transport people between mainland Sharjah and the Abu Musa Island, situated 70 kilometres offshore.

Topaz to complete structural work and outfitting of two crew/cargo vessels. UAE, Abu Dhabi, 6 February, 2012: Renaissance Services (Muscat Stock Exchange: RNSS) subsidiary Topaz Energy and Marine, a leading provider of offshore support vessels and engineering services, has been awarded a contract from GAC Group to provide completion services for two crew/cargo vessels. Topaz’s NicoCraft shipyard in Abu Dhabi has been awarded the contract based on the shipyard’s capabilities and established track record.

Topaz, Saudi University to Offer Maritime Training

Topaz Marine KSA, a subsidiary of Topaz Energy and Marine, and the King Abdul Aziz University in Jeddah have joined forces to offer training to cadets from the university which allows them to operate as officers onboard sea going vessels. Topaz Marine is the first and currently only offshore support vessel business in Saudi Arabia to sign a letter of intent with the King Abdul Aziz University, a press release from the company said. The company has been working with cadets from the university during their ‘sea-training’ period since the beginning of 2015.

Topaz Marine Appoints New Managing Director

Geoff joins the company following a period as an independent marine consultant. Prior to this he enjoyed a career spanning twenty seven years with Dubai Drydocks and Drydocks World. After holding a number of managerial positions he became Technical Director of Dubai Drydocks in 1999, CEO in 2004 and Group CEO in 2007. Topaz Expansion to West Africa

Topaz Energy and Marine (‘Topaz’), a leading oilfield services group, has secured a two vessel contract offshore Nigeria for the duration of 2011. The award constitutes a new market entry for Topaz in the strategically important and buoyant West African offshore sector. Topaz has mobilised two Anchor Handling Tug Supply Vessels (AHTSV), Topaz Johor and Topaz Jurong, for an eight month contract to support operations in the Atlas, Mira and Brittania fields, offshore Nigeria, on behalf of AXXIS Petroconsultants Ltd.

MAN Diesel & Turbo’s medium-speed propulsion packages have gained another foothold in Middle Eastern offshore operations. After successfully completed seatrials, Abu Dhabi-based Adyard has earlier delivered the ‘Topaz Dignity’ – which is now followed by the ‘Topaz Triumph’ AHTS. Topaz Wins New Charters, Acquires Two AHTS

Topaz signs over $65 million of new charters and announces the acquisition of two AHTS. Renaissance subsidiary, Topaz Energy and Marine (“Topaz”), a UAE-based oil field services company, has been awarded two new long term charters, totalling over $65 million, in the GCC and the Caspian Sea, two of the company’s major operating areas. It also confirms the acquisition of Topaz Rayyan and Caspian Reliance, two Anchor Handling Tug Supply Vessel (AHTS). Topaz Rayyan, will be deployed in Qatar on a seven-year, $50 million charter, for an international oil company (“IOC”). The vessel was built in 2006 and was previously owned by Sanko Steamship Co Ltd in Japan. The second AHTS, Caspian Reliance, is to be deployed in the Caspian Sea with a firm contract value of $13.9 million.

Abu Dhabi-based Adyard has delivered two AHTS vessels equipped with MAN L27/38 propulsion packages. The two Topaz Energy & Marine 67-metre (80-ton bollard pull) vessels are ready for anchor handling tug supply services and the transportation of dry and liquid cargo to and from pipe-laying barges, drilling platforms and production platforms for offshore operations. The Topaz Dignity will operate on behalf of BP, the oil and gas major, on a long-term-contract basis in the Caspian Sea – whilst Topaz Triumph may remain in the Middle East and be operated by Topaz Marine MENA.

Topaz Appoints New CEO

Renaissance Services has announced the appointment of René Kofod-Olsen as CEO for Topaz Energy & Marine (Topaz). Mr. Kofod-Olsen’s career spans 18 years in the marine industry with the A.P. Møller-Maersk Group (APMM), including a period as Chief People Officer of SVITZER, responsible for the global HR function. He is currently CEO of SVITZER Asia, Middle East & Africa, responsible for a fleet of 130 vessels operating in 17 countries. He is also a member of the global executive leadership team of SVITZER. He will take up his new position at Topaz in early August 2012.

Topaz Breakthrough in Turkmenistan

Topaz Energy and Marine, through its subsidiary BUE Turkmenistan, announced the award of a $14m contract with MMHE (Malaysian Marine Heavy Engineering). MMHE is operating a JV between Technip and Petronas in the construction and development of the hook up and commissioning of the Magtymguly Collector Riser (MCR-A) offshore Turkmenistan. The scope of work under the contract will include transportation to support the installation of the topside and pipe lay support from MCR-A to the onshore gas terminal.

Topaz Confirms Delivery Wind-farm Vessels

Renaissance Services subsidiary, Topaz Engineering, a UAE-based full service ship building, ship repair and engineering services company announced it has completed the delivery of two wind farm support vessels (WFSV) to ASP Work Boats Ltd, part of the global ASP Ship Management Group. Workboats Exhibition and Conference Opens

The region’s premier maritime event for specialized vessels opening Monday, 5 October 2009, is shrugging off the impact of the economic downturn with a 70% increase in the number of exhibitors and a 60% increase in exhibition space compared with last year, according to the organizers. Workboats include tugs, ferries, supply vessels; police, fire, patrol, pilot, rescue and oil spill boats; along with, dredgers, barges and floating cranes. More than 2,000 such vessels are estimated to be docked or repaired in the Middle East.

RAK Petroleum Public Company Limited has chartered the first Topaz Wave Piercer for use in the Gulf the company announced.
