Transas Marine launches Pay As You Sail solution. Transas Marine launches its 'Pay As You Sail' chart solution for (S)ENC. Transas received approval for the 'Pay As You Sail' service by UKHO, PRIMAR and IC-ENC after succesful sea trials and verification by Det Norske Veritas (DNV). Traditionally the navigator has to select and purchase charts prior to each voyage using what is commonly called pre-licensing method. With Transas PAYS solution the vessel will have a license and access to install, view and pre-plan using official (S)ENC's without additional cost. What's unique with Transas "Pay As You Sail" solution is that recording and reporting of charts used is done with extraction from Transas Navi-Sailor 4000 ECDIS logbook.

Transas Receives BSH Certificate for ECDIS Training
Transas Marine GmbH is the first among all German training institutes to receive BSH Flag State approval for its STCW conform ECDIS training. BSH has issued a certificate for Transas with an honorable number BSH-2011-921-001. ECDIS Training offered by Transas Marine follows the IMO Model Course 1.27 fully compliant to the Manila Amendments to STCW 2010, which will be compulsory for training from 1st of January 2012. This allows Transas to issue STCW 2010 compliant ECDIS training certificates.

ULTRAGAS Chooses Transas ECDIS Solutions
ECDIS manufacturer Transas Marine was awarded a contract for the supply of Dual ECDIS to ULTRAGAS, an ULTRANAV company and owner and operator of highly specialized vessels for transportation of Liquefied Petroleum Gases (LPG) and petro-chemical gases with years of experience in this demanding segment of shipping. As a part of the contract, ULTRAGAS has ordered Dual Navi-Sailor ECDIS Multifunction Display (MFD) sets with Radar overlay for installation on board of five additional vessels.

Transas Shifts Sole Focus to Maritime Sector
Arranging new changes to its brand positioning, the Transas Group informs it will now focus its efforts solely in the maritime market. The group’s shareholders made the decision to focus the Transas brand on the maritime business only, taking into account the success of Transas and its brand awareness in the maritime IT market and dominating position in several key segments of this market, Transas explained. Transas Consolidates Network
From February 24 to 28, Transas Marine Pacific in cooperation with Transas HQ completed a simulation training course and distributor seminar for all Transas distributors in the Asian-Pacific region. Countries participating included Japan, The Philippines, Indonesia, Taiwan, Korea, Malaysia, Thailand, Australia and New Zealand. It was the first organizational event of its kind held for the entire South-East Asia region. The subject of the seminar was the development of the Transas Distribution Network in the Asian Pacific region, its structure and further expansion. Moller Group, Transas will provide 160 Maersk vessels with a dual Navi-Sailor 2400 ECDIS (Electronic Chart Display and Information System) complete with Radar Overlay, a full world folio of Transas electronic charts and a subscription to the chart correction service. Transas has also been contracted to supply the weather forecast software, Weather Wizard, onto each ship, as well as the necessary Transas computers and Hatteland displays. In addition to the onboard equipment range, the Transas delivery package will comprise an office ECDIS system for the A.P.
Transas Simulation Complex Installed in Shetland
Transas has successfully completed the installation of a new simulation complex at the North Atlantic Fisheries College in Scalloway, Shetland. The new installation replaces the existing Norcontrol simulator. This new advanced complex at the forefront of simulation technology employs the latest NT Pro 4000 software offering a very high training potential. The complex includes a Transas full mission bridge simulator equipped with two ARPA radars / ECDIS / conning and ship controls, 210-degree visualisation and two additional bridges developed to operate as separate vessels and aimed at complex specialised pilotage/tug operations training in conjunction with the main bridge.

Transas Marine Wins ECDIS retrofit order for BSS Fleet
Transas Marine has been chosen by Telaccount Overseas Ltd. as a partner for ECDIS retrofit program for Bernard Schulte Shipmanagement (BSM). BSM is a global leader in quality Shipmanagement with 320 vessel under technical management and additional 300 under crewing management. According to agreement, Transas Marine will supply its Navi-Sailor ECDIS 4000 Multifunction Display system with numerous additional options, like recently launched Transas Bridge Link (firewall system) and Admiralty Information Overlay with T&P Notices. Transas Admiralty Data Service (TADS) which is an official SENC service will be supplied to the part of the fleet. Transas will provide crew training and service support.
Swedish Transport Approves Transas ECDIS Training
Transas Marine International has received Transportstyrelsen (Swedish Transport Agency) approval for its STCW conform generic ECDIS training. After successful formal and on-site Transportstyrelsen audits, Transas ECDIS training course was certified successfully and will be re-audited according to the regular Transportstyrelsen audit cycle. Transas Electronic Charts Approved by HDNO
The Head Department of Navigation and Oceanography (HDNO) of the Russian Federation has recognized Transas vector charts in the TX-97 format for use in remote areas of the World Ocean, as per Notices to Mariners issue 32/2003 *5093/3 of August 2003. According to the HDNO recommendation, the usage of the Transas world TX-97 database with updated paper charts will improve safety of navigation. After a close verification procedure, the expert commission has confirmed that Transas vector digitized electronic charts represent a high-quality product fully compliant with all the related international standards and regulations, including the ISO: 9000 quality system. The in-house production of vector electronic charts is an important area of Transas activities.
New Transas CEO Plans Market Shakeup
The new CEO of Transas, Frank Coles, has vocalized his vision for the future of the global maritime technology for the first time since his appointment in late 2015. Transas Receives VAR Status
Transas Ltd. has received Value Added Reseller (VAR) status for the IC-ENC (International Center for ENCs) official electronic nautical charts (ENC). Transas successfully passed all the tests and assessments and is now authorized to distribute the ENC data produced by national Hydrographic Offices and primarily designed for use with Electronic Chart Display and Information Systems (ECDIS). Hydrographic offices are the only national institutions, which can produce and/or authorize the production of ENCs of their own territorial waters. There’re only four VAR’s that have been appointed so far, including Transas, which is the only ECDIS manufacturer to also supply official electronic charts in System ENC (SENC) format to be used with ECDIS.
Transas Installs VTS Systems in Morocco Ports
In May 2002, Transas installed its Navi-Harbour 3000 VTS systems in two Moroccan ports, Jorf Lasfar and Mohammedia. Transas has won these orders following the success of Soremar, its local distributor in Morocco and North Africa, in the international tender. The VTS system configurations ordered for the both ports are identical and comprise in each case a radar sensor with a Transas ORS-3 radar processor, Transas VTS Server used as Master operator station and one full-functional Operator Display Unit Workstation. The systems supplied provide target tracking within the area extending from 20 nautical miles outside the port to ship berthings on the port basin.
Korean Registry Okays Transas ECDIS
