ST Engineering Hires Kongsberg to Equip New W2W Vessel

Kongsberg Maritime has secured a contract for the design and integrated equipment package for a new walk-to-work offshore service vessel (OSV), to be built by ST Engineering Marine in Singapore for an oil and gas company.The 97-metre vessel of Kongsberg Maritime UT 5520 design will accommodate 106 people and features a motion-compensated gangway to enable safe transfer of personnel between to and from offshore installations.The new design is a further development of Kongsberg Maritime’s extensive range of vessel types for the offshore energy market.It builds on recent experience with the succe

Seaonics to Equip Five Vard-Built W2W Newbuilds

Seaonics has signed a contract covering the delivery of five Electric Controlled Motion Compensated (ECMC) Gangways and five ECMC 3D Cranes for an international customer to a series of walk-to-work offshore newbuilds under construction at global shipbuilder VARD's yard in Vietnam.The advanced equipment will enable the vessels to provide comprehensive maintenance, supply and operational services to offshore oil-and-gas installations.The ECMC systems ensure smooth and precise movements even in challenging sea conditions by compensating for the vessel motion.

Safeway Wins W2W Deal with Heerema to Support Huge Taiwan Offshore Wind Farm

Safeway won a contract from Heerema Marine Contractors (HMC) to supply a Safeway Seagull type motion compensated gangway system for installation on the CSV Normand Baltic.The contract is significant for Safeway as it is the first contract for HMC, and it is also the first time the Safeway Seagull system with 3D crane function will be deployed to transfer personnel and cargo during an offshore wind project in Taiwan.Heerema was awarded a promising contract for a very large wind farm off the coast of Taiwan.
