Phillystran Wins US Navy Ropes Contract

Phillystran has been awarded a five year contract to supply mooring lines to the US Navy. The new contract follows the successful completion of a five year contract in which Phillystran supplied over 1 million feet of Aramid mooring lines to US Navy ships.Part of the WireCo WorldGroup, Phillystran has worked with the US Navy and US Coastguard for over 40 years, developing and supplying ropes that set the benchmark for fiber rope performance and innovation. Lankhorst Appoints Commercial Director

Maritime and heavy lift ropes company, Lankhorst Ropes, has appointed Mark Pieter Frölich as commercial director for Lankhorst Ropes USA. Based in Philadelphia, Frölich will head the development of Lankhorst Ropes’ sales in the maritime and offshore markets in the United States and Canada.Lankhorst Ropes is part of Kansas based WireCo WorldGroup, a steel wire and synthetic ropes maker. Previously regional manager for Lankhorst Ropes in the Middle East, Frölich has spent the past seven years successfully founding and growing the WireCo WorldGroup branch office in Dubai.

U.S. Coast Guard Looks beyond Mooring Lines

WireCo Acquires Netherlands’ Endenburg

WireCo WorldGroup Inc., the world’s leading producer and marketer of specialty steel ropes and high synthetic ropes, announced today that WireCo has acquired the assets of Endenburg B.V., a Netherlands-based company. As part of the agreement, WireCo will establish a crane rope distribution center at the current Gouda location, called the WireCo Crane Center. Founded in 1855 and headquartered in Gouda, Netherlands, Endenburg supplies hoisting and lifting gear including steel wire ropes, shackles, fiber ropes and custom-made tarpaulin covers for the shipping, towing, construction and transport industry. The Endenburg name will not be continued and all activities will be incorporated into current WireCo business units.

Lankhorst Increases Ropes Supply Range

Ropes manufacturer Lankhorst Ropes Offshore Division expanded its range of high performance mooring and anchoring ropes to include steel wire ropes for the offshore market. The company is now able to offer both synthetic and steel wire ropes for mooring and anchor systems, as well as towing, crane lifting, riser tensioners and drilling applications. Initially, Lankhorst will supply six-strand, eight-strand and multi strand (non-rotating) steel wire ropes direct from WireCo WorldGroup factories in Germany, U.S., Mexico, Portugal and Poland.
