VOSTA LMG Signs with Indian Mazagon Dock

VOSTA LMG received a contract from Indian Partner Shipyard Mazagon Dock Limited for the supply of an engineering & components package for a 1500 kW cutter suction dredge (CSD). It is the first time ever that such a Giant CSD will be built at a shipyard in India.

The order for this cutter suction dredge has been awarded to Mazagon Dock Limited by Dredging Corporation of India. The large-sized cutter suction dredge is especially designed for dredging rock with an unconfined compressive strength of 40 MPa. It will also have a spud system, which has been designed by VOSTA LMG for hydraulic advance and positioning of the dredge, enabling to operate even in swell. A parallel rope guide, which is tensioned hydraulically reduces load peaks. This ensures that the dredging process is largely independent of the swell. VOSTA LMG will take care of basic engineering of the cutter suction dredge, on-site project management of the building stages, dredging trails and dredge master training. Another part of VOSTA LMG's scope is the supply of all dredging related equipment, such as a complete cutter ladder system with integrated cutter head drive and submerged dredge pump drive, dredge pump system consisting of one submerged dredge pump, one inboard dredge pump and the related drive systems, anchor boom system, all dredging related winch systems, hydraulic plant, dredging related electric plant, dredge automation and cutting control system. The dredge will be equipped with a VOSTA cutting system; two different kinds of cutter heads will be supplied.

One is suitable for cutting sand clay and soft rock, equipped with cutting teeth system type VOSTA LMG SC40 and the other one is suitable for cutting rock, equipped with cutting teeth system type VOSTA LMG D40
