OSV Crewman Medevaced off Texas

An ailing crew member aboard an offshore supply vessel (OSV) was medevaced 14 miles off the Texas Point Wildlife Refuge, Wednesday morning.

 
At approximately 7:45 a.m., U.S. Coast Guard watchstanders received a report from the 120-foot vessel, Poppa John, stating a crewmember fell and broke a leg and an arm and was experiencing extreme pain.
 
Watchstanders launched a 45-foot response boat crew with an EMT aboard to meet the vessel as it got closer to shore.
 
Once the man was transferred to the response boat, he was taken to Station Sabine where EMS was waiting. He was reported in stable condition.
