Huntington Ingalls Industries' Newport News Shipbuilding division has been awarded a $136 million cost-plus-fixed-fee modification to previously awarded contract N00024-15-C-4301 to continue performance of the repair, maintenance, upgrades and modernization efforts on the Los Angeles-class attack submarine USS Columbus (SSN 762) Engineered Overhaul. 

Work will be performed in Newport News, Va., and is expected to be complete by November 2020.

Fiscal 2020 operation and maintenance (Navy) funds in the amount of $136 million will be obligated at time of award and will expire at the end of the current fiscal year.  The Supervisor of Shipbuilding, Conversion and Repair, USN, Newport News, Virginia, is the contracting activity.
