China Shipyards Haul in Latest Ocean-going Newbuildings

Increased activity in the dry bulk carrier shipbuilding market is reported in the latest Clarkson Hellas Weekly S+P Bulletin, and in all sectors the shipbuilders are in China.

Dry bulkers
Grieg Shipping have added to their existing orders at Dayang, with two further units of Ultramaxes, due for delivery within September and December 2015, this takes their order at that yard to four ships.

Wah Kwong Shipping have now also placed order at Chengxi Shipyard for four 64,000dwt Ultramaxes scheduled for delivery within 2016.

Ariston Navigation have also increased their order at Jinling Shipyard, with declaration of a further 35,000dwt Handysize bulker for delivery within Jan 15.

 Fujian Shipping Company have placed orders for 2 x 105,000dwt Bulkers for delivery within June 15 and Mar 16 for 2 x 105,000dwt Bulkers at CIC Jiangsu Shipyard.

Tankships
Clarkson Hellas report that Sungdong Shipyard have taken orders for 4 + 2 units of MR’s for Breakwater Capital, deliveries are understood by Clarkson Hellas to run from 2H 2015 and into 2016.

Container ships
Zhongzhou Shipping Co. Ltd have placed orders for 6 x 1,600 teu container ships scheduled for delivery within 2015 and into 2016.
