Houston Channel Open to Inbound, Outbound Ships
According to a report from Reuters, the northern part of the Houston Ship Channel reopened to inbound and outbound ships Wednesday, October 6, for the first time in three days after workers cleared dangling power lines and an electrical tower leaning over the waterway, the U.S. Coast Guard said. Twenty-four ships were waiting to exit the channel and 40 vessels were waiting to come up the channel, the Coast Guard said. While ships have moved up the channels, others have lined up in the Gulf of Mexico to enter the waterway.
