- Partnership with TransIT Solutions to Accelerate Time to Market -

San Diego, California, March 8, 2011: Boatracs Inc., a leader in providing integrated communications and software solutions to the maritime industry, announced today it is building a powerful new web-based software platform. Boatracs has partnered with TransIT Solutions, a software provider for the transportation and logistics industry, to accelerate the development of the new solution.

The partnership combines TransIT Solutions’ strength in developing Internet-based GPS applications with Boatracs’ unparalleled experience in developing and deploying satellite communications solutions to the commercial maritime market. Boatracs is building on the core architecture of TransIT Solutions’ TransFusion Network product, a cutting edge web application for the shipping and logistics industry, to create a Software as a Service offering that will make critical operational information available to workboat, offshore service and commercial fishing boat owners when they need it most.

TransFusion features mapping, messaging and tracking along with a host of other functionality that is already integrated with Qualcomm’s OmniTRACS® and Mobile Computing Platform (MCP) satellite solutions, a key benefit to Boatracs who has been a strategic maritime distributor for Qualcomm since 1990. This new product will enable access to vital data across multiple devices, as well as integrate current and emerging maritime information systems such as AIS (Automatic Identification System).

"These types of partnerships between best of breed companies greatly accelerate time to market," said Irwin Rodrigues, CEO of Boatracs. "Thousands of vessels already depend on the reliability of our solution for data messaging, vessel tracking and maritime fleet management. We are committed to enhancing this value even further with this initiative."
