Philadelphia Gear Corporation announced the promotion of Scott Biddle, 36, to the newly created position of Northeast Regional Sales Manager. Biddle's new position includes management of sales growth throughout the eastern U.S. - an area already covered by himself, several Philadelphia Gear sales personnel, and three independent firms who represent Philadelphia Gear in their respective territories - along with the expansion of his own sales territory to include eastern Pennsylvania and northern New Jersey. As a regional sales manager, he will work to ensure that Philadelphia Gear customers are serviced in a fashion that meets their immediate needs.
"As our sales territories have expanded, the need for focused sales management was a natural result," comments Carl Rapp, President and CEO of Philadelphia Gear. "The promotion of Scott Biddle to the new Northeast Regional Sales Manager position is an extension of Philadelphia Gear's continued refocus on regional service and repair."
"Philadelphia Gear has forecasted strong growth for the upcoming year, and I'd like to make sure that all members of the Northeast Region share an active role in achieving that goal," says Biddle. "One area we'll be directing particular attention to is the growth of our service and repair business in the region."
Biddle is a 1988 graduate of James Madison University (BBA Finance), in Harrisonburg, VA. After beginning his career in the financial market, Biddle took a sales position with National Foam Inc., where he eventually ascended to run operations for its Environmental Products division.
In 1994, Biddle joined Philadelphia Mixers Corp. (a sister company of Philadelphia Gear) as a Regional Sales Manager. Shortly after, he was called to work at Philadelphia Gear in its Standard Products division.
After working in Standard Products, Biddle moved into outside sales for three years in the Southeastern region. He was then offered the opportunity to start a stand-alone division of Philadelphia Gear, involving the manufacture of spiral bevel gearing. After a successful start-up, growth period, and subsequent sale of the division, he returned to selling in the aftermarket to support Philadelphia Gear's new structure.
Today, Biddle resides in Malvern, PA with his wife and three children. He currently is a member of the Alumni Board of Directors at James Madison University.
A founding member of the American Gear Manufacturers Association (AGMA), Philadelphia Gear products can be found in use across the globe; from enclosed gear drives used in the oil fields of Saudi Arabia, to speed reduction units helping power the cable cars of San Francisco.
