Bay Ship & Yacht Recognized as Experts in Lifeboat Repair

Maritime Activity Reports, Inc.

August 17, 1999

Bay Ship and Yacht offers the specialized service of repair and renovation of lifeboats. The work is performed at the company's Point Richmond, Calif. facility. Work on both powered and unpowered lifeboats has ranged from routine maintenance and upgrades to major restoration, including extensive storm damage repairs. In each case, Bay Ship was selected due to its reputation as the West Coast shipyard with the requisite knowledge and resources to fully restore lifeboats to ABS and USCG standards. Typical renovation on 33 through 45 man lifeboats can include structural repairs, fiberglass, gel coating, engine overhauling, repowering, hardware and hand-hold restoration or replacement and complete interior and exterior painting. Prior to the start of work, an in-depth inspection of each boat is completed, identifying areas of repair, and an outline of the repair procedure is provided.
