Red7Marine Offshore Win Rich Slew of Contracts
UK-based Red7Marine Offshore Ltd announces the award of a number of new contracts for 2013.
Cable protection work has recently been awarded on the Paimpol-Brehat Tidal Energy Converter project, Brittany, France. The scope of work includes the installation of more than 100 concrete mattresses to provide additional stabilisation of the export cable connecting tidal energy devices to the shore. The scope includes a number of supporting operations with site work due to commence summer 2013.
The company’s subsea cable installation expertise also continues to expand with the recent award of the export cable installation for the Biscay Marine Energy Platform project near Bilbao, Spain. The project includes the collection, installation and burial of four export cables from onshore out to the offshore wave energy test site.
Closer to home in the cable sector R7M Offshore has very successfully completed SeaVex cable de-burial and subsea inspection work on the Moyle Interconnector, a 62km 500MW HVDC subsea cable system connecting the electricity grids between Scotland and Northern Ireland.
In the oil and gas sector R7M Offshore has recently completed a gas wellhead 'work over' operation for a major SNS operator. The project has led to the award of follow-on work to mobilise a vessel and undertake a large decommissioning scope of works involving the cutting and removal of a number of 120t wellhead protection frames.
Heading up operations at R7M Offshore base in Great Yarmouth, Managing Director Peter Flint said “We have already undertaken a number of significant projects for our renewables and oil and gas clients in 2013 and as it stands now we have secured sufficient work to fulfil our growth targets for the year, with some availability remaining”.
