The US Attorney for the Western District of Kentucky issued a press release stating that a barge company and three employees have been indicted for violations of the Ports and Waterways Safety Act, the Clean Water Act, and conspiracy. Allegedly, a barge owned by the company experienced a benzene leak. The leak was patched, but not reported to the US Coast Guard.
