One and a half ton strong hi-visibility grab line floats on water immediately a lifejacket is activated, for easy retrieval using manpower, passerelle or lifting equipment

All lifejackets are fitted with a lifting becket, which in comparison with the size of body in rough seas, is like finding a needle in a haystack.

Lifesaver is 3 meters of brightly visible yellow line, spliced into a loop with a triangle at one end. The other end is fitted to the lifting becket in an automatic life jacket. When the life jacket inflates, the Lifesaver floats out onto the water and is much easier and faster for the rescuer onboard to grab with a boathook and secure the casualty to the boat. Once attached to a retrieval rig, Lifesaver is able to lift up to 1.5 ton with its HMPE (Dyneema) strengthened line.

MOB Lifesavers are already making waves within the commercial and professional industry; innovator Duncan Wells says, “Tees Port staff now have MOB Lifesavers in their lifejackets. We are working with the Tees pilots on incorporating Lifesavers into their Pilot coats and have already done this with Sea Start who now have Lifesavers in their special Seasafe Systems, gilet-inflating jackets. We are also speaking to the Border Agency and the Hampshire Water Police about incorporating Lifesavers into the lifejackets of the officers and crew.

“Added to which, we are close to the UK Maritime Pilots Association and through Seasafe Systems would hope to roll out Lifesavers in Pilot Coats throughout the UK as a result of the Tees pilots' tests,” Wells said.

MOB Lifesaver has already received approval from leading manufacturers. To fit, simply undo the jacket, find the lifting becket, and loop Lifesaver through using a strap hitch knot, neatly fold back in on top of the bladder.

Lifesavers come complete with a pouch and Lifejacket zip tag, as a reminder.
