In April Bollinger Shipyard delivered the first of their 234-ft class of Cummins-powered Platform Supply Vessels (PSVs) to Bee Mar Inc. The shipyard started building this series of vessels in 2008 and delivered the first in the series to the newly formed Bee Mar LLC in June of 2009. The Bee Mar newbuild fleet will consist of five 210-ft and three 234-ft American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) classed DPâ2 PSV's.

Crowley Christens ATB Tank Vessel in Tampa
On March 26, Crowley Maritime Corporation christened the eighth of 10 new 185,000-barrel Articulated Tug-Barge (ATB) tank vessels that the company will take delivery of by 2011. The vessels christened were the tug Achievement and barge 650-8. Sure to be no stranger to the Tampa waterfront, the vessel is scheduled to visit the port once a week as it carries petroleum products for Marathon Oil Corporation.

Strategic Marineâs Singapore Success
Strategic Marineâs Singapore shipyard is currently implementing an infrastructure development plan to be completed by 2011. Strategic Marine Singapore recently signed a contract to build four electric powered water taxis for Singapore tourism company Russell Rocks Pte Ltd. With a seating capacity of 24 passengers, the vessels have been designed specifically for the clientâs scenic taxi service operations.

New Bridge Nav Watch Alarm System
Uni-Safe Electronicsâ new Bridge Navigational Watch Alarm System BW-800 complies with IMO MSC 128(75) and the new IEC 62616 performance standard from February 2010. The company said it expected to be the first company in the world to present a Type Approval of a Bridge Navigational Watch Alarm System complying with the new IEC 62616 performance standard. Crowley has signed a contract with Bollinger Shipyards to build two newly designed ocean going tugboats, with options for additional vessels. Washburn & Doughty Associates, Inc. of East Boothbay, Maine is pleased to unveil its new 80-ft by 33.8-ft Z-Drive Tug design. The vessel is designed for ship handling and harbor work. It admeasures less than 150 gross tons allowing it to operate without a load line assignment. The tug is designed to exceed ABS standards and customers can choose to specify ABS class. Bollinger Delivers 55K BBL Tank Barge
Lockport, La., Bollinger Marine Fabricators, L.L.C., a Bollinger Shipyards, Inc. company, has delivered the M 6000, a 55,000 barrel (bbl) Oil Pollution Act of 1990 (OPAâ90) compliant tank barge, to Midstream Fuel Service, L.L.C., a wholly owned subsidiary of Martin Resource Management Corporation. Contract terms and conditions were not disclosed. The 55,000 bbl tank barge, M 6000, was built at Bollinger Marine Fabricators, L.L.C., in Amelia, La. and is a Bollinger design.

Eastern Shipbuilding Gets Tiger Shark Contract
Harvey Gulf International Marine, Inc. of New Orleans, La. announced the award of a contract to Eastern Shipbuilding Group, Inc. for the construction and delivery of six 292-ft by 64-ft by 24.5-ft Offshore Support Vessels. The signing ceremony was held January 4, 2010 at Harvey Gulfâs new office at One Shell Square downtown New Orleans. Delivery of the first vessel will be in nineteen months with follow-on vessels to be delivered in five months increments thereafter.
