VT Halter Delivers ATB Tug to Bouchard
VT Halter Marine, Inc. announced the delivery of the M/V Morton S. Bouchard Jr., the first of the two 6,000 horsepower Twin Screw Articulated Tug Barge (ATB) tugs to Bouchard Transportation Co. Inc. Measuring 130 feet by 38 feet by 22 feet, the M/V Morton S. Bouchard Jr. is classed by ABS as +A1 Ocean Towing, Dual Mode ATB, USCG Subchapter C and is equipped with an Intercon Coupler System. The vessel was launched on October 29, 2015 at the Moss Point Marine facility in Escatawpa, Miss.

VOS Partner Delivered to Vroon
Netherlands based shipping company Vroon has taken delivery of a newly built platform supply vessel (PSV), VOS Partner. The vessel was handed over to Vroon on January 14 during a ceremony at Cosco Guangdong Shipyard in China. The Dutch flagged VOS Partner is the third of six PX121-type PSVs being built at the shipyard for Vroon featuring the Ulstein-patented X-BOW design. Coincidentally, VOS Partner is the 100th vessel of Ulstein design.
Mud Cat Dredges Operating in Iraq
Multiple amphibious, multifunction dredges from Mud Cat are operating in Iraq to clean various dams and barrages that are positioned along the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers. Iraq’s Ministry of Water Resources (MWR) purchased the MFDs to remove accumulated silt, sand and vegetation at each dam’s basin. By performing regular dam maintenance, Iraq’s MWR can maintain the designed water levels at the dams to prevent structural components from being compromised.
