Another LNG Fueling Milestone for Harvey Gulf
Harvey Gulf International Marine LLC has received the first ABS Classification Certificate and the first USCG Certificate of Inspection for a vessel powered by LNG. The M/V Harvey Energy is the first LNG powered vessel in service in North America. Last week, Harvey Gulf performed the first truck to vessel transfer of LNG, the first vessel to bunker LNG and was the first U.S. Flagged LNG powered vessel to enter into port while being powered by LNG.
First-of-class Tug for Sanmar
Cooperation between both the operational and construction teams of Sanmar AS and the designers at Robert Allan Ltd. has resulted in another new tug/workboat design. Yenicay, this first-of-class compact ASD achieves a 30mt bollard pull in a vessel measuring 18.7m x 9.2m, with a draft of 3.7m. The ABS-classed vessel has joined three other tugs in Sanmarâs fleet at Petkim Port, Aliaga, Izmir, Turkey.

First LNG Bunkering of OSV in North America
Harvey Gulf International Marine, LLC reported that its dual fuel offshore support vessel (OSV) M/V Harvey Energy has today bunkered LNG as a marine fuel. The news makes Harvey Gulf the first North American owner/operator of a dual fuel OSV to bunker LNG as a marine fuel, as well as the first to complete a truck to vessel transfer of LNG. The bunkering took place at a shore-based terminal owned by a subsidiary of Martin Midstream Partners L.P. in Pascagoula, Miss.
First of Six PSVs Delivered to Vroon
VOS Pace, the first of six PX121-type platform supply vessels designed by ULSTEIN, was delivered to Netherlands based shipowner Vroon Offshore Services on February 5, 2015. Scrubbers Installed on Newbuild Gas Carrier
The ECO VLGC Corvette, delivered from Hyundai Heavy Industries on January 2, 2015, is fitted with a Class and Flag State approved exhaust gas cleaning system (EGCS) provided by Clean Marine. The measurements of exhaust gas emission and washwater criteria are well below the required limits stated in the MEPC guideline 184(59). This ensures vessel compliancy with the 0.1% sulphur limit in ECAs, which has been in place from January 1 this year. The vessel is also compliant with the stricter U.S.
Great Ships of 2014: R/V Neil Armstrong - Multifaceted Sea Explorer
The Ocean Class Auxiliary General Oceanographic Research (AGOR) vessel hull number 27 started its official life as the R/V Neil Armstrong, the first research vessel named after a space explorer. The ship was designed by Guido Perla and Associates and built at Dakota Creek Industries (DCI). R/V Neil Armstrong will replace the R/V Knorr, in service since 1968, one year before Armstrongâs walk on the moon.
